[RS] Mallrats (1995) - Original Dailies Tape

Okay guys, I've managed to find and upload a real treat. I'm posting two hours worth of the original dailies from Kevin Smith's cult classic Mallrats. For those of you who don't know what dailies are, they're the raw and unedited footage from the filming of a movie (meaning you're able to see multiple takes of the scenes we're all familiar with in their unfinished form).

What these dailies hold in store are alternate performances (some from different angles) by Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Joey Lauren Adams, etc. Also, you get to see Kevin Smith acting as Silent Bob while directing the movie, which is interesting to actually watch. Some of the takes included actually ended up being used in the theatrical cut. However, a good number of scenes included in these dailies are missing from the theatrical cut, and can only be seen in full quality in the deleted scenes section of the first Mallrats DVD or the extended version included with the second.

I'm not sure where this came from, but the quality looks like it's been transferred from an old VHS tape. The quality is rough, but definitely still watchable. There is also a 'PROP MCA' watermark on the bottom (obviously meaning it's property of MCA). I only recommend this to big fans of the movie, because the casual viewer will get bored watching the same scenes repeat. Also, if you haven't seen the deleted scenes or the extended cut, I'd watch either of those (preferably the extended cut) before downloading this because these dailies are from the original shooting script before the subplots were changed to match Clerks and the scenes were reshot/overdubbed.

yeah i can't imagine this being easy to find (considering that dailies are exclusive property of the studios and are usually only released through deleted scenes, outtakes, behind-the-scenes, etc), i just happened to buy it from a guy who makes money selling this kind of stuff. the way i see it, if somebody has to bite the bullet and buy these rare movies and upload them so everybody else can download it for free, then so be it. i guess you could say it's a community service.

Thanks for this. Big Kevin Smith fan. How do I get these files to join together though? I can see that it's a .zip file, but the extensions are .001 to .008. I've tried both HJ Split and 7zip to join them so that I can get then extract using WinRar but neither program seems to be working with these.

Thanks. I tried it again and it still wouldn't work so I uninstalled 7zip, re-downloaded it, installed it, and now it extracted perfectly. Don't know what the problem was before but thankfully it's working now. :)

I checked the new RapidShare links and they aren't working...
