I haven't yet broken mine, I resolved not to make any resolutions and so far I've succeeded!

If I had stuck to my resolution, I'd be built like a Greek God right now :/ Still got a lot of work though. Thanks for this topic. :) Back to work!

Well, not so much a resolution, but I made a vague promise to myself that I would, at some distant point in time, maybe, possibly, put some undisclosed amount of effort into trying to quit smoking.

To my surprise, I quit a month ago. To my even greater surprise, I had no, and proceed to have no, craving for tobacco. It's weird, it's as if I never started, and unless this is the Matrix or some other fabricated version of reality and/or memories a-la Eternal Sunshine, I smoked for 10 years.

Every year my new years resolution is the same, to learn to play the blues on the guitar. I have not even attempted to begin. I have absolutely no intention of ever ever doing it, but that is my resolution. Next year, just like last year, and the year before that, I will wake up on New Years morning and say the same thing.

I dont understand New Years resolutions, if you want to change something, why not change right now, or tomorrow morning, or any morning. I see New Years resolutions as a feeling of regret, that another year has passed and the feeling of regret for not accomplishing something is there for some people. Sad. I'm glad I dont feel that way.

I resolved to firmly and with great gusto, abandon, discourage, and berate all forms of political correctness.

It is my right to be rude, crude, and socially unacceptable. It is your right to shoot me in the head if you don't like it. (or was that the other way around?)

I agree with you on this. It's bad enough that I make promises to myself all the time and don't keep them. Making it an official thing just makes me feel like a failure the next New Years, and I don't need that. Although, I do feel that I'm making myself a better person every year, so maybe that's a resolution I could make and not feel bad about.

Then again, making a resolution to do something I know I'm going to do anyway isn't much use is it? I resolve to resolve this dilemma before New Years...

:)

The voice of wisdom!

I kept most of mine... I said 'I start this thing in 2012"... so I have a few months left to start!
