As soon as we get computers fast enough to do the required calculations in a reasonable amount of time. I mean, it took almost a month to transport Gandolph and Chewbacca, which is why Gandolph ended up eating his transport partner. Remember his remark about the teacher making him spit out what was left of poor Chewy.

Of course, when we found out it would take that long (about 10 minutes after we hit the Enter key), we figured it would go the other way, and that we'd end up with a more civilized and less hairy version of the Wookie. We all know what we ended up with....

Back to teleportation, doesn't the physics behind it say if the process of teleportation as used on Star Trek, was created and used on humans, it would virtually create an exact replica of the person on the other side of the field, copying and reproducing a replica of their molecules, thus creating 2 theoretical identical persons?
What if a person was schizophrenic?
Would that reproduce two exact replica's??

I know, I'm tired, that's my excuse. Actually, since my son is at his mothers I should go for a nap...

Actually I would be more worried about whether consciousness travel with you through teleportation and if it did would it still be the original one or a recreated one meaning that you die but a duplicate with your memories appears on the other side making appear as you teleported but rather you just and a carbon copy of you was left in your place.
