I remember I bought the old thick 78 of Spike Jones, that included "William Tell Overture".

I purchased a few 45 singles of early Elvis, Bobby Darin, Ricky Nelson, etc.

The first, more modern era, I was anxious to buy, and did, was "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". If not first release was pretty damn close. I still have it but in storage.

I bought this one...

The Fab Four was just gaining popularity in the US and this Vee-Jay label album came out just before Meet The Beatles on the Capital label. Memory is a crazy thing. I clearly remember that magical period when the airwaves were full of this wonderful new and very unique British band. My buddy Charlie and I went out and bought this album at Woolworth's. He paid $3.77 for his stereo copy and I paid $2.77 for the monaural version since I didn't have a stereo record player. As it turned out both were stereo. It's ironic that I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, but can remember ancient trivia. Go figure.

Bad by Michael Jackson on tape.

First record I ever owned was The Aristocats (full story was narrated) and boy did I cherish that!

This is the exact record I still have (but don't listen too :P) today!

@PhoenixBSD
I know what you mean! I clearly remember watching the Beatles 1st Ed Sullivan show, and Elvis' Jailhouse Rock, only shown from the waist up while he was moving. We had to watch at my Grandparents because we didn't have a TV. More memorable were my Grandfather's comments!

On the other hand...I didn't realize until a few minutes ago that this is Monday evening, not Tuesday!

That's because in ancient times, your memory was good, but yesterday clearly (well, maybe not so clearly for you) your memory was bad.
