Default How much money are you worth

Was just curious thinking about the kind of people we have on here (other than the obvious mental peculiarities of some of you!) I know most of us come here to sort of acquire free stuff to some extent and sometimes its a totally financial decision as opposed to lifestyle or ease .....so was just wondering if you realised all your assets today (cash, investments, pension already accrued, cars, property etc minus debts....everything) what you would be worth roughly? I,m sure a fair few will be nothing or even negative but I,m sure there must be some who are worth a million maybe? Maybe we could swap a few financial advice tips as well in these troubled times?

I,ve had to do this recently as I was thinking about buying a new property so I will go first!! lol and between me and the wife if we wanted to cash everything in today and we got market value we would probably get ..........£260,000-£280,000

A money tip?
Was told by my old maths tutor at an early age "If two brothers both earn £100 every week ones outgoings are £99.99/week and one,s £100.01 then one is permanently happy and content one permanently being chased for debts all over a difference of 2p!! ...LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS YOUNG MAN!!"

Haha I,m sure most of us would echo that phoenix!

Out of curiosity and knowing where you live now ....how much income per month or year would you think a westerner would need to live a reasonably comfortable life over there?

A little less than half of what you've got Ano (~$200,000 USD). But that's not bad considering I had to start from scratch 9 years ago... Divorce is hell on the finances...

My creativity is worth more than all the money in the world. My real paper value isn't really that high though.. Cough* cough* anyone spare some coin so I can by some bread/beer?

Save a notorious_d0g today before they go extinct! A small donation of just £10,000 will help provide them with clean drinking water for dry mouth, magical medicine for that morning illness and Ill'ness in general, a roof over their head for those rainy days, and tortillas.

If life were a movie, I'd probably be one of those people who gets killed during war/alien attack/disaster without even being shown or heard from. I'd just be part of the group who gets reported as "casualties".

I'm in the -$1000, just a few more months and I'll be debt free and I can finally make some money again. I guess the lesson I learned is, it's better to go hungry than to go in debt.

About the same as you Anomander.
My tips would be to-
>Live within you're means.
>Pay in Cash.
>Know the difference between things that you need and those that you want.
We live in an outer borough of NY(Not Manhattan) and would need $3,500 a month to live comfortably.
Our son lives in Manhattan and pays $3,600 a month for his apartment.
Owning our own home saves us about $1,000 a month.

This is my biggest worry for people just starting out in adult life......seems nearly impossible to live a cheap and cheerful life nowadays like we did. While we saved and built it was quite easy to live on next to nothing but everything now costs a fortune
Very true and sad anomander.
