Cat Rescued in Iran Finds Home with Napa Family
Deformed cat found in Iran, stuck to the ground, soaked in gasoline, covered in abscesses, shot in the face, now gets to spend the rest of his Caturdays in Napa, CA

Found shot in the face and clinging to life on a Tehran street, a tabby named Maloos has been adopted by a family in Napa after a long journey of rehabilitation.

Maloos, the cat found injured in Iran

An Iranian cat that was found injured on the streets of Tehran earlier this year has a new lease on life after being flown to the Bay Area and treated, then adopted by a Napa family this week, a spokeswoman for San Francisco Animal Care and Control said.
Maloos, a small 2-year-old orange-and-white tabby, was found stuck to the pavement in Tehran in April, soaked in gasoline and mud and covered with abscesses. He had been shot in the face and had deformed hind legs and spine problems, rendering him immobile, Animal Care and Control spokeswoman
Rebecca Katz said.

A concerned woman in Tehran called the Sayeh Animal Guardians, and someone who was part of that organization happened to know a person who was about to fly to San Francisco and could take the cat. The group reached out to San Francisco Animal Care and Control for help in treating the injured feline, whose name means "cute" in Farsi.
On April 15, Maloos was picked up at San Francisco International Airport, and under the care of ACC, he has undergone several surgeries and is now outfitted with a "wheelchair" to give him mobility.
Katz said that despite a missing back leg and congenital deformities, Maloos is growing accustomed to his wheelchair and is "playful, spunky and very congenial."

After hearing news of Maloos' arrival in the Bay Area, residents became smitten with the Middle Eastern cat, expressing interest in adopting him and donating money for his care -- allowing the city shelter to provide for him without dipping into taxpayer money, Katz said.
"We normally don't take animals out of county, let alone out of the country," Katz said.
The ACC held an adoption lottery last week after a growing list of families said they wanted to take

This shite happens so frequently theres obviously a generous percentage of the world population that gets off on cruelty.

Nice world we live in, of course we make these problems ourselves, and carry on about how "terrible" it is blah, blah, blah, the next frickin day something like this happens again.

Circle of misery.

Its pretty easy to stop the cycle, but that makes too much sense I guess

It's all about the Katz!

Sad story, how people could do that to animals is beyond me.
I knew a kid when I was a young teenager, he lived up the road. At 5 years of age he cut the throats of several kittens their family pet had given birth to and tried to flush them. As he grew he was a major psychopath and ended up doing serious time as an adult.

Funny the ladies name is Katz, I had a lung specialist called Coffman!
Thankfully, it wasn't turn your head and Coffman....
Matching the name to the job I guess. Now what's that gynaecologists name again....Ah, that's it, Smith!

Iranians bad! - Americans good!

Maybe some misguided person did a horrifically bad job of trying to put a messed-up animal 'out of its misery', rather than it being straight-forward animal cruelty.
Obviously, it all amounts to the same thing, but they don't give much of a clue as to what happened.
(Did someone find a little cat-sized gun and suicide note at the scene?)

I'm still confused about the fact that the cat was in Iran, but then it somehow got to the USA?
How the heck did that happen? and WHY? Don't they have vets in Iran? Is this some kind of propaganda trying to make Iran out to be some kind of "vet-less" country? Something of which 99% of readers probably missed =P

This sounds EXTREEEMELY fishy to me.....
