Default man sues all you can eat

HIENSVILLE - A disturbance at a local restaurant when one man got upset that an all-you-can-eat fish fry didn't live up to its name.

At 6'6" and 350 lbs, Bill Wisth admits he's a big guy who can pack it away more than most. And he wants one restaurant to make all-you-can-eat, all he can eat too.

"It's false advertising," said Wisth to TODAY'S TMJ4.

Wisth has a beef with the all-you-can-eat fish fry at Chuck's Place. He was there Friday when the restaurant cut him off after he ate a dozen pieces.

"Well, we asked for more fish and they refused to give us any more fish," recalled Wisth.

The restaurant says it was running out of fish and patience; arguing Bill has been a problem customer before. They sent him on his way with another eight pieces, but that still wasn't enough.

He was so fired up, he called the police. "I think that people have to stand up for consumers," said Wisth.

And he wasn't done. He came back two days later with a picket sign.

Elizabeth Roeming is a waitress there and says they've tried to work with Bill over the years -- like letting him have a tab he still hasn't paid off.

And customers are running to the restaurant's defense, even interrupting TODAY'S TMJ's interview to give Bill their two cents.

Bill isn't backing down, saying his fish fry fight isn't over. But in the end, even he had something nice to say.

"They do have like some of the best pizza in town if you like deep dish pizza," said Wisth.

Bill Wisth says he will picket every Sunday until the restaurant rethinks what happened.

And that's why I don't go to 'all-you-can-eats'. The type of people they attract, subpar food quality, and such places have overal just a sleazy atmosphere. Aka 'the cattle gathering'.

Every restaurant has a standing policy when it comes to all you can eat. Some place restrictions. I eat a lot and I have never been restricted. I can only imagine what that guy eats. But if their policy is on their side then no harm done. Also, they should sue for the open tab. This is probably the best thing to happen to him, damn fatty.

Seems to me the guy has a pretty legitimate gripe. If they say all you can eat, then by golly, it should be all you can eat. Just because he can eat more than average and threaten their profits doesn't mean he should be kicked out. They should change their advertisement to "All We Feel As Though You Should Eat", or "If you can eat 11 pieces you get the 12th one free".

but then, he has a tab that he hasn't paid in a while. so he would had been eating for free for how ever long.

also doesn't seem like he was a very nice customer.

When I was young, I was skinny (175cm 43Kg) but could eat like a horse. The local "all you can eat" asked me politely to limit myself to 3 plates (packed as full as I wanted) because I usually ate more than that. They knew they couldn't force me, they admitted as much. And, the publicity of them banning a skinny kid like me for eating too much would have killed them. But, like I said, they asked me politely, and I did as they asked.

From reading this, the restaurant in the story did more than just ask politely, they bent over backwards to be nice to this guy without going bankrupt. And this is how he repays them.

Excuse me, but this guy is a 100% Grade A a-hole....

A law suit is not mentioned except in the thread title. The man is threatening to picket on Sundays. If he has the right permits, that is his right. The restaurant has the right to refuse service to anyone it wants.

smiles,

That sounds like perfectly reasonable way to resolve this situation. The man in the article should politely respect the restaurant's wishes so they don't lose too much money and can continue during these hard economic times.
