NASA's Curiosity rover and its parachute were spotted by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter as Curiosity descended to the surface on Aug. 5 PDT (Aug. 6 EDT). The High-Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera captured this image of Curiosity while the orbiter was listening to transmissions from the rover.

They seemed to have misspelled the Chinese gentleman's name: It should be "Yan Kee", using the personal name last, family name first.

p.s. One must admit, after coming so far, Mr. Yan would not readily 'go home'.

Perhaps the message in that^ pic actually saying that the Martians are missing the "Yankee" and wished the "Yankee" to come back to them for the sake of Martians. :P
