Well im after a martial art to do with sword work mainly.
Preffer an art where sparring is involed, even more serious sparring (more contact)
Even though kendo fits perfectly in what im after, thats not what im after.
Kendo is basicly japanese fenceing, and there sparring is also based on fenceing.
Im more into real samurai art i guess.
Ive tried Gumdo (koreian version of kendo) and i didnt really like that either.
Ive done Bujinkan abit (Bujinkan Nippo also known as) and it was amazing, even thought it was %50 hand-to-hand.
So im kinda looking for a Kenjutsu style art? even if its a smore speffic sword technique/art.
Anywho, just wanting to know some more arts in this area.
Im looking into serious learning, not just short time for giggles.
Help me out! :D
Cheers

Quote: Krabi Krabong is known for its use of the sword; kumdo is Korean kendo. Iaido goes by other names (batto-jutsu, for example). If we are breaking it down this far we might consider various schools of Western fencing as well. Swords of a sort are used in the FMA (sometimes it's hard to tell if something is a short sword or a just a really long knife). The Tai Chi sword comes to mind, including the Kwandao Code: Select All (http://www.digidao.com/nkwan.htm) and here some useful link..(for me, dont know bout u) ![]() Code: Select All http://www.blades-uk.com/arts.php | ||

Well, kenjutsu would be an option. Or...if you were talking about samurais, read a little about (nihon)ju-jitsu. Originally used by the samurai "soldiers", includes many fighting tehniques, also fought with swords. You may want to read about Miyamoto Musashi as well. p.s. My advice: Never stick to a single style, learn/try more to became "complete". Do not think about who will you beat, instead try to find what the elder masters(senseis) followed! Good luck. you could look into Iaido which is practice for battojutsu once you get through the basics I found sparing to be fun. Painful but very invigorating.
