I may be wrong but the military would be spread pretty thin over the whole country so each unit wouldn't be that huge. You also have to account for the numbers of soldiers that would refuse to turn on citizens and join resistance teams.

Does anyone know any good designs for tin foil hats? Ive been trying to make a tri cornered hat but I am unsuccessful.

If I am not mistaken, martial law was declared in New Orleans after Katrina for a few days. The military had complete control and restored order when everyone was looting and stealing----even the POLICE----and all went well. Sometimes it is a necessary sad to say. I couldn't blame the people of New Orleans for looting food and water but they were stealing everything. Human nature at its finest! You have a problem when the military takes over the government and establishes a dictator as in Nazi Germany, Iraq under Sadam. The ones with control of the military will always rule the masses. Little ole Britain ruled the WORLD at one time when they had the most advanced military.
