Emoticon Unhappy MCA of the Beastie Boys Dead at 47

The Grammy-winning Hall of Fame rapper/musician has passed away.

TMZ is reporting that Adam Yauch, MCA from the Beastie Boys, has passed away at the age of 47.

While it's not known at this time if Yauch's death was cancer-related, the rapper/musician was treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node in 2009, undergoing surgery and radiation therapy.

Yauch leaves behind a wife, daughter and a musical legacy that dates back to 1979 when he co-founded Grammy-winning, Hall of Fame rap group The Beastie Boys. Yauch, due to his undisclosed condition, was unable to attend the Beastie's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month.

R.I.P. MCA, I've followed the Beastie Boys right from the first EP with such greats as "pussy crumbs" and have every single album.

Tonight's a Beastie Boys night. Crank up the tunes

Such a loss.

Personally I'm not a fan of their music at all, but it's still sad to see a talented musician pass away at such a young age. RIP.

Gosh, I was listening to their musics in the last few days. I liked their vividness, a bit hard to believe one of them died.

RIP Adam Yauch

Never heard of them, but if they did rap it would have disappeared from whatever I was listening to real quick.
Still. RIP!
