Comments Megaupload vs. Rapidshare

I wonder which is better....

MU
*up to 500mb upload (200 reg)
*decent dll speed
*unlimited dll at certain times
*Mega Manager (awesome download mang)

Rapidshare
*most i've seen 100mb ddl (up to 200mb prem.?)
*5-6 dll mirrors

That's my list so far, anyone could add on and comment

It seems to me Megaupload has an advantage in the amount one can download and how conventient it is (Mega manager takes care of you log on uploaded/downloaded files and all I have to do to dll a set of files is copy the list and paste it into it and it dll 3-4 files at a time)

-An :Lighten: why not make a sticky saying that MU is the file hoster of choice and list the steps or link to the post of how to get unlimited dll.

MINIMUM ive clocked for Rapidshare is 487kb/s plus mu cap their downloads. also its not all about downloading, for me rapidshare and files-upload.com are the fastest uploaders when i upload my stuff, and i dont really want to download third party programs to upload.

Yeah I guess MU does cap the downloads, but u don't need to download the mega manager, it is just very convenient and uploads are faster

18gigs!!!! , well I guess that's why u're a moderator/UPLOADER

And I also have premium on both sites, its like a requirement if u wonna be a active member in this community

Not really, I don't have a premium account for either site and I get by. It just takes a lot of patience. :D

That's about the only bugbear with RS, went on holiday for 19 days, did I have 19 days worth of 25GB's download, no I had only 25GB's. looks like it only works in RS favour.

I preffer RS over MU

because its easier to download with a free user from RS then MU that always says download capity is exisseded and u need to wait bout 8 hours

i have to say rapidshare is better. megaupload never gives me more than half of what my connection can handle....premium or not. and i can't really see the good thing about that mega manager except for the fact that you can use it to upload with.and if you only need a download manager, just use flashget(not advertisment intended)

rapidshare's site also load faster, and you don't have to hover the mouse over stuff on the website to see what they do if you're new on the site.
sure you have to download a lot more files with rapidshare and you can upload a larger single file to megaupload....i'll still get the things twice as fast as i would with rapidshare

premium or no premium....i vote rapidshare

and something we should think about when we take this into consideration....the prices:

time MU RS
1 month € 9.99 € 6.99
2 months € 11.99 X
3 months X € 16.99
6 months X € 29.99
1 year € 49.99 € 54.99
2 years € 69.99 X
life time € 199.99 X

I currently have my MU manager to 6 downloads at a time, with no problems whatsoever... at 120+k per file. RS also have a 25Gb per 5 day cap, whilst MU have unlimited download.

Usually when I have both download managers (MU & RS) I set it up for 3 files at the same time for each. I like both options, though I really hate the 25Gb cap. It would be great to see more posts of MU shares. Just my .02

I know many have better speeds with RS, but this is not true in my case... I have basically the same speed on both, and I have a 8Mb download speed.

For "free" option.. RS is the way to go... for Premium... I go with MU, since I don't have any download limitation.

MU is so much better =\ even though MU cap their downloads you get fair speeds like 130kb/s
i think thats pretty dam good
and they dont have limits like 25gb for 5 day... MU is unlimited in everything as long as u have premium
and lol? RS cant be bypassed so easily if you have a static ip address... its not gonna help if u unplug and replug back in modem...

and the prices compared from RS to MU is not much different...

might be my isp, but lately megauplaod dl speeds have been horrible.

both have equally bad upspeeds, but this might be my isp again.

and i've seen significantly more content served through rapidshare
