That's just ****ed up man... I know that there are a gazillion details I probably don't know about, and that I'm only speculating upon all of this from a far away perspective, but from what it seems like, its really just f***ed up........ How is it that I know about this, and nothing has been done about it? Surely if I know about it, the government also knows about it.

As has been pointed out over and over here, the US government is owned and operated by big business... So what do you think the chances are that they don't know, and even more so, what are the chances that they'd do anything to stop the abuses by big business? Who the hell do you think got the law passed that gives them the right to sue?

:(

So Americans are basically slaves? I mean, with that much corruption, it probably makes no difference who gets voted in as president.

Not quite slaves... There are some weapons they have, like the ACLU, some watchdog organizations, and the Supreme Court... So, if big businesses get caught, they get slapped... But, some things they do aren't easy to detect or prove, and that's where they get over.

But, they still aren't blind. They have some hacker groups on their side too, although most of them aren't as visible as Anonymous. So, some of the secrets leak out that way too, prompting investigations which often time dig up the proof.

However, while there is a powerful arsenal, most Americans don't even try to use it. Also, most Americans have heard of the corruption so often, that they just shrug instead of trying to do something. So, it's about a 70-30 split of where the power is, although that's shrinking. And if the flow of information can be controlled by things like SIPA and ACTA, the word won't get out when they do bad things, and the people side (the 30%) will nosedive.

As for who is president, it does matter. Republican's do everything they can to benefit big business. Democrats help the little man. Trouble is that more Republicans than Democrats are in places of power, because the fat cats had the money to get them there. The Senate is Republican controlled, the House by Democrats, and the current president is a Democrat. So, things are tilting a little more towards the people. But, if the Republicans with the presidency, the numbers will be in their favor, and the power will shift back towards big business...

So, it could get better, but I wouldn't bet any large amount of money on it....

What americans need to focus on now (and some are) is to "defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic" with focus (obviously) on the domestic part.

Its saddens me, that such an inward threat has become a reality.

And jeezus dog, your outta control, your a posting machine right now!
Did you buy a new high end keyboard or something lol?

And ada mirrors much of my own views on the situation, and he wrote it all up quite nicely, thanks friend
