Mom Beats Her 3 Year-Old Daghter Because She “Looked Too Much Like Her Father”

A 33 year old Billings woman is behind bars Friday night after allegedly beating her three-year-old because the toddler looks too much like her father.

Angela Carrillo is held on two felony counts for allegedly assaulting a minor. Court documents say late Thursday night, two women told Carrillo they were going to take the child for a walk – but instead brought her to the emergency department to report the abuse.

One of the women told police she had to revive the child Monday after Carrillo beat her. Documents also say Carrillo allegedly yelled at the child and told her she was “tired of raising” her and that she “looks like her dad.”

When asked about the child’s injuries, Carrillo told police the child fell down the stairs.

Hearing about this type of thing never fails to shock me. I just can't grasp how people can be like this.

I was going to say Kudos to the 'two women' but why did they wait 3 days? I mean, come on, one of the women had her hands on the child on Monday. Even if she was afraid of this woman, and i use that term grudgingly, she could have called the police, fire department or child services. Geez... any organization would have reached out to help immediately.

After careful consideration and deliberate thought, I think she should be thankful she looked like her Father! Dude, he must have used a bag when he got her pregnant!

People who hit children in order to find some form of a release are sick.

I never condoned beatings. A firm smack open handed on the bum maybe. But never in anger. Especially on anyone below 7. After that they start knowing bad behavior.

Some kids these days do not respond well to the talk therapy and no matter what you say or do simply will not listen. In that case one has to be ready to become creative. But a "Beating" is never the answer.

But if the above story is true this women deserve to be punished severely.

And her reproductive rights should be removed. I have always been a strong opponent of this. But before anyone jumps on me let me clarify.

This should only be done if.

1. You have a genetic defect that has a greater then 75% chance of being passed to a child. One that is debilitating and kills. Nothing as easy as a skin disorder or something lame.

2. Mental illness. If you cant take care of yourself you can't raise a kid.

3. Some disease that is %100 transferable to a child.

4. Child abuse as in physical or sexual. Maybe toss in mental.

And the removal of your rights to procreate should only be removed in such a manner as to allow the procedure to be undone, should your situation change in the future or you are cured.

Of course only if a system was setup that could guarantee that no innocent people would ever be put under the knife.

I condone beating, if only as a form of discipline. Beating for the hell of it is something else though. A kid is not a punching bag to release your anger. That lady is just sick, in more way than one. Just look at her face!

You may want to rephrase that statement and possibly your outlook my friend. Beating is not a good word and is not a form of permissible discipline.

A couple of bum strikes is sufficient to get your point across to the child and as a last resort if you can not reach out to the child verbally.
People who beat their kids should have their kids taken away and possibly go to jail, since they do not understand that a child is not a "punching bag" for their frustration and inability as an adult to verbally communicate in a positive reinforcing nurturing manner.
The woman above is a sick individual. She was just beating her child because she "looked like her father." I cry for that child.
