Mother cat takes a bullet for her kittens

It has been said that a woman will take a bullet when it comes to her babies. At Helen Woodward Animal Center, veterinarian Dr. Oba discovered that this extends to animals and people alike when she removed a BB bullet from the head of new mommy feline, Cindy. The cat, found hovering over her new born babies, had been exposed to more than just nature’s elements in her quest to protect them. She had taken a literal bullet and refused to leave their sides.

“Mommy and baby kitties are all doing fine, but it was touch and go when they first arrived,” explained Oba. “They were all very tiny, malnourished, unvaccinated and very scared. It took a gentle hand to pull that Momma away from her babies.” Once in surgery, Dr. Oba discovered the reason why. The cat and kittens had been shot at by someone and Cindy had taken a blow to the head. Her determined effort to remain steadfastly with her litter is proof that the bond of motherhood knows no limits.
“I like to think every mother would do the same,” said Customer Service Lead Shannon Bush. “She certainly is a role model to mothers everywhere.”
Cindy and her babies are on the road to recovery and are available for adoption at Helen Woodward Animal Center. What kind of human being can be so cruel and evil? He deserves to be locked (unarmed) in a cage with a pair of feline, I propose a couple of tigers, then let's see what the great man will do.

Fortunately mother cat and her kittens are recovering now.

It constantly astounds me how awful people can be. And I just got a new kitten, so this seems ten times more horrifying, as well. *sigh*

I think a factor might be that there are way, way too many cats in suburban areas these days.
Rather than being cherished pets, they're just taken for granted and roam freely (as you'd expect an animal to do); to make my point - you don't get stories every day about dogs being shot etc. - but then there's also the fact that cats are quite vulnerable to unscrupulous humans, but dogs not so much!

When I had my own 3-bed house (along with three garden sections - front, back and side) the grounds were effectively a cat toilet for seemingly every cat in the street.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that the number of turds was probably like twenty or thirty every week.
Being a nice guy, of course, I would never harm someone's moggy, but I had some pretty unpleasant thoughts towards them running through my head during daily poop patrol.

if god was one of us he would probably grab that pos buy the mouth and rip his upper mouth and lover mouth apart. well thats what i would do.

that should sting ...
but then i would be not better than him. So i kick him where the sun won´t shine, and make him clean kitty litters for 2 weeks :)

haha i agree with that....only i think it would be better to drop him off amongst a pride of lions in the Okavango delta and see how he makes out. if he survives that, give him a medal and than throw him in the tiger cage

Someone shot my cat with an air rifle, the vet pulled a metal pellet out from beside his eye (eye is pretty much ok, pellet was probably a ricochet).

If I had seen them, child or not they would be dead... I go mindlessly apesht mad if I see someone mistreat an animal.

PS. While typing this message the rascal of a cat brought in a big dead mouse into my room and started playing with it behind me! :(

You are correct, that coward should be locked up in a cage with few felines bigger than him and then he will learn some lessons about who's the boss, i.e., lessons in humility and after that he or people like him should be castrated routinely so that their kind cannot not pollute the Earth any more.

I hope that this person will be caught and panished for his/her actions, who whould do such terrible thing to a animal I cant think of a reason really, unfortunately there are some of that kind of monsters that torture animals, I read long ago there was a guy in facebook that killed cats for his pleasure after he had tortured them, and in fact he had posted some pictures too with his "trophys" included, it was terrible and awufull, I dont know if he is still there but I decided that I never visit his profile again after that, I was pretty shocked of what a person might be thinking and how he process that in his brains before he do such actions, I m a animal lover unfortunately my country is the queen of strays, and I often see abandoned animals in the streets unprotected from the danger of being hurt by driving cars, I give temporary shelter and first aid when I find a hurt or abandoned animal, pet or not, I do my best but I know that is not enough,
anyway We make our bed when we make such terrible actions
