Default New Discussion Forum Feature - LIKE

Posting this because I've gone long periods of time without checking the News & Announcements forum (yeah I know, shame on me) and thought others who do the same might like to know sooner rather than later. <and breathe> Or haven't figured it out yet.

For those of you who do not visit the News & Announcements often - there is now a new feature in the discussion forums. (Thanks TP) It's called the "LIKE" feature. If you scan your mouse over the lower right portion of a post body or, lol, above the gray ".... like this" bar you'll see "LIKE" peek out at you. Click on it to express your "LIKE" of a post in the discussion forums.

Must say I think it's a good feature and a fine method of replacing the thanks button in OT. Pity it's ape'ng facebook but i tried to think of a better name for it than "like" but couldn't. I expect Zuckerbergs lawyers will be haunting us soon for IP theft...

How about instead of "like" (Which I hate with a passion) we can get "Hug" or maybe even "touch" or what about "uncontrollably laugh while my pants are at my ankles" (That post only applies to Plasty's threads)?

I guess this is fine. It doesn't seem that necessary, but hey, whatever works.

It very quickly wanders over into "3 others like this" if there are alot of likes in a reply.

I would "like" lol, if it included more names before it started referring to people as numbers. Im vain and I want people to see straight away that "I" liked it, rather than being a number.

Apart from that its a good way to acknowledge you like a reply, without having to actually "reply".

I feel abit awkward writing "lol" to replies, but I did that sometimes, because some comments were too brilliant not to acknowledge.

G, ano, cyber etc.. take a bow

Steve J likes this post lol

If you click on the "# others" it will show you the member names of those "others". LOL ... Maybe not exactly what you're looking for but it's a start!?

There is something already broken with this "like" system. N_D has 20 likes and there's no way in hell that could possibly happen.

I tried to find that one song which ends in "I like it, I know you doo". I think they used it in a Cadbury Chocolate ad years ago. but I failed.

ahahahaha and now you have 7 thanks to my kind donation =P

dw though, you're a very likeable person, I mean? the only reason you don't have many likes is cuzz you haven't been posting very much, see what I mean by "likeable" ? But do you know what, Im kind of ashamed cyber has more than me.... either ashamed, or awkwardly disturbed?
