Sounds like something went a bit wrong here, like one cop fired (maybe he got nervous), then the others followed suit and fired as a knee jerk reaction or something?

Im not a cop or young, and I could take down a homeless guy with a knife.

Regardless of what follow up stories say, Im sure the officers involved are far from happy about this incident, and would have been chewed out many times over by now by their superiors.

Police training?? A homeless guy with a butter knife .......A cop tooled up like Mad Max with armour on to boot and he darent get close enough to use a Taser ....or I dont know lets try a bizarre tactic actually talk to the guy and try and calm him down? Or overpower him? Have you seen those videos where a guy used to pay bums to fight? Their technique is woeful none of them could jab or even have a decent defence!!

Sure you haven't got this mixed up with another case?
Well, yes it can. We see this guy everyday around where I work. One of my co-worker's wife works for the hospital and she does all the autopsies for the Tri-City area. She had told him 50 shots. (They used AR-15's, not handguns from what I was told)

And to the other comments, he didn't have a knife. It was a collapsable fork.

She needs to 'tip off' the local press, even if it's semi-anonymously.

Can we assume then that the current media version of events came straight from the police?

We don't even have to assume the massive amount of conjecture and bullsh1t that has been added to the news story, it is obvious. I mean, regular cops using ar-15's, really? I'm sure that some used their service pistols. Its not like all cops are issued an ar-15. And I still question the 'shot 50 times'! To quote from my own previous reply:
Quote:
All the news stories I could find state the man was shot "multiple" times and later died at hospital.

The only mention of 'shot 50 times' is in this post. I could find no news stories that mention it.

They do state erroneously the man was in his fifties. He was 49.

Milton Hall, 49, died at St. Mary's of Michigan hospital after he was shot in the parking lot of the Riverview Plaza shopping center, police say.
Emphasis mine.

All I can say is that is was and is a horrible tragity. The police were confiscating everyones cellphones that were at the shopping center so people wouldn't post videos online. And Saginaw is a VERY dangerous town. All police officers have assault rifles in their vehicles. The amount of shootings in this town is completely ridiculous. So many are unreported simply because the police won't go into those areas of town.

O.k lots of "oh no a homeless person died jokes".

I used to make jokes like that, until one year, I was financially destitue, didnt have to hit the streets, but it was still a humbling experience.

There but for the grace of God and all that.

Seen a few shows/docs where they interviewed some homeless people, and alot of them had the wife, kids, home, job, and a few bad breaks later, there on the skids.

All people are worth something in my book, until they do something horrible, then break out the joke machine lol
