Are private trackers safe to download from

Hey guys my friend bought a Hdchina account and it seems to be working perfectly fine, he has good ratio and its good overall. His main question is are they safe to download from instead of the piratebay. Also he will be using a vpn service, I personally told him that private trackers are safe and he is even safer since he is going to be using a vpn but I dont know what do people really think any suggestions before he starts his downloading.

If you use a torrent-friendly VPN, you can download from wherever you want, there is no way for anyone to track you since your IP address won't show up as the downloader.

Personally, I don't use a VPN and download from TPB quite regularly for shows (I live in Canada, have lived in South Africa, New Zealand, Finland and Russia), and I never had a problem. To be honest, the odds of anyone catching you is are so slim that it's almost not even worth talking about. However, if you are paranoid (understandably), then getting a VPN is the best option, since even private trackers can be infiltrated.

Thank you very much any good vpn companies that anybody could recommend. I use to us nvpn but that was about 6 months ago. any new good ones. out there.

Yeah, anybody can recommend a good VPN. I have been looking around, but do not know which to choose.

I am planning a few trip to the East next year and they include China and Viet Nam who both have restrictive access to the Internet. You guys would be amazed by the amount of websites that are "too busy" and thus cannot be accessed while surfing in those countries. Even our awesome tP forum is not accessible! Hopefully VPN can bypass those restrictions...

No, almost every private torrent tracker is not safe, except the top tier private torrent trackers, which you and I probably can't get in to. Anyone who claims that private torrent communities are completely safe from anti-piracy agencies is ignorant. It's quite logical why this is so. Because consider this; if your friend could buy his way to get access to the private torrent tracker, than what's stopping anti-piracy companies to do the same?

However, your friend should rather check the laws of the country he's in. Because in some nations it is legal (or condoned) to both download & upload copyright protected media as much as you'd like. And if uploading of copyrighted files is illegal, than yes, your friend made a good choice to start hiding behind a VPN.

Well we live in the U.S so everything is illegal here lol any good vpn out there.
