Think thats about our level at the minute to be honest so not many people here surprised or that disappointed (Germany would of killed us in semi) it wasnt like we embarrassed the whole nation back home. Can you imagine being from a country steeped in football tradition who like to think of themselves as one of the top tier teams who, lets say, lost all 3 of their games? Now thats embarrassment!! lol |

^ I wholeheartedly agree. At least you got a hecklot further than my country. I still think football should go back to its roots though; lob the heads off of the losing team. Bunch of lazy overpayed slackers need to get some motivation. If I were coach... Last edited by L1b3rta; 06-25-12 at 01:50 PM. |

Nice joke, Lib :) But seriously, England did nothing in 120 minutes. leaving aside a couple of minutes, Buffon could have gone to dine out, for a walk, and then a coffee, then come back for the penalties. Count instead how many times Italy shot and you have the picture Anyway your team and mine too are out, so this is just a discussion among sportsmen |

Spain has been very lucky to get into the final. I am glad, though, because I don't like to see a game twice, so Germany doesn't get to play again against Portugal. However, that means that Germany has to win against Italy (they should have a good chance) so I don't have to watch Italy:Spain again albeit this was one of the best games of the championship so far. Funny, the last four contenders were the first two from group b and c. Hopefully, the pairing will be better next time. I would have liked to see Croatia in a quarterfinal instead of Greece (sorry, but their game was a lot better). So let's see how the squadra azurra will play against Germany, hopefully they won't play too defensive so they will have a chance against the dominant midfield of so called Schland. Hopefully, we don't get to see another penalty shoot-out. In my opinion, Portugal would have deserved to join the finals. I also thought that Ramos would not be able to complain, had he seen the second yellow card. By the way, I was only being polite when I said England was a balanced game for about 60 minutes. But then, compared to overtime, the first sixty minutes were considerably balanced. Looking forward to the final. My guess: Italy wins it all. |

Portugal deserved to win against Spain, I agree. But this is football, as you know. Let's hope to watch a good match tomorrow, possibly without penalty shoot-out after overtime. Edit: A great Italy and a little Germany, the Azzurri deserved to win 3-0. The referee gave a penalty against Italy but I don't understand why. anyway it'll be Italy-Spain. Another good match, I hope. Last edited by Shawn_7; 06-28-12 at 03:00 PM. |

Surprised that no one mentioned this, but gee, I really didn't think Germany wouldn't reach the finals. Not because the had won all matchs to sh*tty teams, but because they were a solid team. That was quite an unexpected twist of Italy to actually beat them on their part aswell. The black guy on the italian team (forgot his name), dang, he was goddamn pro. Even had the balls to take off his shirt and get a yellow. :D

Germany seemed a solid team also in 2010 until they lost with Spain. I don't know why, perhaps there are some problems that, as you say, against weak teams are not so evident but against better organized teams make the difference. Just my opinion, of course. |

Now thats embarrassment!! lol We have many old veterans who are past their best time, then a lot of our ace team had injuries and couldn't play with their club the whole past season. But let's say we as countries swapped pools. Do you really think England would've survived from Germany, Denmark and Portugal? To be honest I don't think so. Like I said before, I just love to watch great football. No matter what club or country plays, even if it is my own. I of course can't deny to see my football ego turned down a notch when losing 3 matches in a row... You do remember that Dobby took on Lucious Malfoy and kicked his ass, right? So I wouldn't bet too much money on Snape... :) |

Well, Euro 2012 is over and it's Spain! woohoo! Campeone...campeone...ole ole ole... ![]() That was exactly the Spain I wanted to see! Anticlimax, exhausted, poor Italy. 2-0 at first half had already made things difficult for them, 2 more goals would definitely humiliated them. Like said in uefa.com, Spain saved their best for the last. Torres scored a goal and an assist. My only worry is will Spain find someone equal or better to replace Xavi and Iniesta. Now let's see who will challenge them: Personally I see Germany will be the strongest challenger. Netherlands: (less likely) they'll have new coach, they'll have to start over their project. Italy: Pirlo and Buffon maybe still present maybe not. Those two are the core strength of Italian team IMO. Argentina: Messi is getting better with the team. Brazil: still not so convincing. |
