I am just, and continue to, question your method of discerning which life it is ok to eat and which it is not ok to eat, and i am thankful i do not have this complex of an issue..... |

"thoughtful"???? giggle! How many times can one "quit" a thread and still be taken seriously? it is interesting that you think i answered my own question! it appears you do not understand the question. On a side note, your digs at my motives are no better than your judgement of my morality. again, the ultimate goal here is to try to show that morality is personal and for one to think themselves of a higher moral standard based upon choosing to eat or not eat meat is lacking in basis and extremely judgmental in a sacrosanct type way. while i find your desire to eat no meat of no consequence to me or the world as a whole, i find your judgement of everyone's morality based on their personal food choices to be foul and hyper righteous; a position which is nothing but offensive. judging, finding fault with other people's morality in no way would influence (which seems your goal) anyone with any level of intelligence. my suggestion is to separate your argument from other people's moral aptitude and focus your efforts on reality and facts; or let each to their own preferences (my personal stance). smiling, Mandy |

Personally i think he just feels guilty so made up a moral excuse as an ego defense mechanism to justify his behavior, personal morality needs no peer acceptance unless it is bogus morality made to cover something up. Dont worry, most of that stuff works without you realizing it. |

I also know we have the dentition of an omnivore, so I cannot think that our physiological make-up would fare well minus the complex proteins found in meat. I know we are beyond "primitive man" and should not be ruled by what nature intended us to be. This argument brings us again to the fact that the only 2 animals with higher intellect are murderers and rapist. (Dolphins and Humans) So the high ground becomes a slippery slope when we use our advanced intellect as the argument. Last edited by bookdragon; 03-18-12 at 07:38 PM. |
