Hmmm reminds me of this:

The whole drift from the whole to the specific, get stuck on details and stop living somehow, a profoundly diseased society :(

That was absolutely touching and agonizingly real. My son has developmental challenges and he's often questioned about his idiosyncrasies by other children at the park so I can relate to the message with a heavy heart. Shared with the family just the same. Thanks for the post!

Everyone's forced to take care of their own business these days, all out and about getting qualifications and certificates to cut hair... There`s not often much time to help others. Maybe unless you're stuck in traffic or something.

When people are at a bus, bar or somewhere else, they tend to stay away from people that dont look "normal". It's not about helping, but just accepting him as a member of our society.

Hell, my son wears a hearing aid and tends to wobble his head from side to side when he's tired (totally unaware he's doing it, he has little balance) and I pulled him from an exclusive private school before he turned 15 because of bullying by not only students, but some teachers as well.
My son has NO friends, yet many of the teachers said he was the sweetest, most caring child they ever had the pleasure of teaching in their years in the education system. At the year 6 final assembly, the vice principal stood in front of all the year 6 students and told them they should all be ashamed of themselves for how they treated my son.

Despite the fact my son is smarter than most kids his age studying their final years in high school, he got a completion level of year 8 instead of year 12 I always hoped he'd go on to. He would have committed suicide way before he got to his final year.

Yeah, most people are A-HOLES!
