I didn't experience that in Opera. Maybe it has something to do with the browsers.

Download the FBReader it is a free open source reader for androids that can read multiple formats
http://www.fbreader.org/FBReaderJ
Use Calibre to transfer books to your tablet. Connect the tablet to you PC using your USB cord if calibre does not recognize the device create a user defined device. (see instructionss below)

Click the preferences button on the calibre toolbar

On the bottom of the menu that pops up is a section labeled "Advanced" This section contains a button that looks like a gear labeled miscellaneous, click that button.

A menu with 3 long menu buttons will pop up. Choose the one in the middle labeled "Get information to setup the user device"

Calibre will find the device connected to the PC and start recognizing it so you can move books onto it.

Hope this helps.

I love the TTS option in FBReader on my phone (I'm addicted to TTS on my Kindle Keyboard).

What's a good app for reading on an iPad? Have some titles I want to share with a friend for her iPad and wanted to recommend an app to read them with, too. I used Stanza once upon a time on my iPad with the Calibre Cloud... but, alas, it got broke when the iOs updated a while back. :(

I'm an apple fan and my preferred ebook reader is Stanza and iBooks. Yes, the latest Stanza update made it useless, but I deleted it, then retrieve the previous version from recycle bin and install back into my device. You can also transfer non-DRM protected epub books into iBooks (I'm using it through iTunes on my pc), but somehow Stanza is still the best for me.
If you want to convert ebook (or any other files i.e. documents, images, video, audio) into other format but do not want to install any software to do it, you can try this website
www.zamzar.com
. Need to upload the file and once conversion is complete, a link will be sent to the email address you gave earlier. Useful if you're not using your own home pc.

Hi all. I was wondering if we have threads for book discussions? Like what we're reading, mini reviews and such? I've been searching and this is the only one I've found so far.

It seems that there are threads for discussion about all other topics, but I can't find the ones about books. If anyone can help me find them --- or at least the right place to start posting --- I'd appreciate it. :)

You can start a new thread for it. I think that's a good idea.

Since an entire section has been created, I will be closing this thread to encourage new topics to be posted individually.
