Well I've been playing 1.6 for almost a year now and ever since source came out everyone has been on source. In my opinion source has nice graphics BUT they made it too realistic like people die in 3 shots in the foot. This takes all the fun out of everything so its basically like everyone has an AWP that doesnt have as much recoil and doesnt need to reload after every single shot. So I would say 1.6 is way better despite of its graphics.
What do you guys think?

Been playing CS for a very long time, since the beta(s). So I'm guessing roughly over 6 years on and off. The upgrade to steam and 1.6 was actually pretty nice, lots of bugs were removed. But came source, god I hate it. For some reason the overall movement and gameplay was very slow. And I'm not talking graphics wise, because I have a high end rig. But like if you rush on Source, it doesn't feel like rushing at all... don't really know how to explain it, I just don't like it one bit. And the sort-of-realistic look doesn't appeal to me as much as.

So for me, anything 1.0-1.6 hands down.

Months ago, I started a poll asking members if they would like a CS Server to play on, but not a lot of feedback since it was in the early stage of our little community here. Hopefully if lots of people take interest in 1.6 again, then that topic will definitely be up for consideration again.

Wow you've been playing since beta?! So you must have a 2 digit or somthing lol.Yeah I fully agree with you on the rushing part. But I beleive that can be fixed if you change your server rates to the same ones as 1.6.
As for the server that you might create, are you going to allow hackers because hacking on cs is just...bleh ._. In other words, hacking on counter-strike is just pathetic...and I hope no one hacks on it. Thats all I have to say.

Haha oh no. Back in those days (high school), friends & I would jack cdkeys from pc cafes and share them with everyone. Things used to be fine as long as you're not on the same WON server (before steam-age). But as soon as steam was released, all the cdkeys were instantly registered. And then eventually we get jobs and had to pay for our own keys.

None of us play CS anymore, including me. Mostly due to work, school, and this forum. Perhaps in the future, I'll play once again.

Sorry didn't really see your question on hackers in cs servers until now.

For any FPS games, I really despise hackers. The point of those types of multi-player games is to have fun and be competitive, though someone else might say the same for MMORPGs, but that's a different discussion.

So I definitely will not allow hackers on the server should I rent one. Of course, I will need a dedicated team of Admins to help admin the server since I can't be on 24/7.

Counter-Strike Is Not A Type Of Game To Hack In.

Its A Game Where It Takes Skill
