Hitman: Absolution - problems

I have been on a lot of forums and read almost everything on TP and I still cannot get this game to work. I'm pretty sure it's not my PC (no probs with all other latest games). I have updated drivers (latest nvidia beta), running as admin, copied across crack + other Skdrw files, updated Windows (Vista Hm premium), blocked in firewall, made exceptions in AV, installed Steam, etc, etc. It still crashes on start up stating 'failed to initialize' and Event viewer states 'faulting module buddha.dll'.

I have downloaded the original unlocked 25Gb version AND the Skdrw release of 15Gb and neither work for me. My rig is getting a little old but it more than passes the rec' specs.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it greatly.

For me it is a totally different issue. I downloaded the repack by audioslave and installed went into the menu selected the difficulty and it crashes back to desktop.
I am running win 8 64bit. I think the game is not properly cracked yet.Waiting for a new crack

I get the following error:
Hitman 5 has stopped working.
read error please verify game cache.

If anybody could solve this It would be helpful.

Well I got the game installed finally , took ages ( 1.5 hours to install ) odd

But working like a charm , quad core q6600 4gb ram 8800GT512 card

Robbo I have a q6600 (@3GHz) 4Gb ram and a 9800 GX2 so a fairly similar rig. I just cannot get this game to work. Do you have Steam installed and what OS are you using, if you don't mind me asking?

You can try what you want, the game is NOT running on a vista pc

Stargunner, my brother has a similar set up to me but with a different GPU and his works fine on Vista.

Have you tried diabling your antivirus then copying over the crack files and testing it before turning the antivirus back on ??

Yes, AV off does not help.

EDIT:
I've also updated net framework, disabled my soundcard and a few other crazy things people have suggested. Still crashes on start up.

Thanks for the links. I don't really get random crashes, just with this game. I have updated everything I can on my pc and it is usually 99.9% stable.

As there are others with exactly the same problem as me I don't believe it to be a problem with my rig. I think I will have to either wait for a patch or another scene release crk.
