It's a simple monetary problem. I like many others cannot afford to buy games. Without the ability to pirate I would not be able to game since I would, bar maybe one or two times a year, be able to afford to buy a game. If I made more money I would still Pirate but would definitely support games that I truly enjoyed and use Pirating as more a Try before you Buy model.

Type B, however some of my friends are a mix of pirates/thieves.

In Rotterdam (example): I buy MW3, register the serial on steam. After that I make use of the 24h return option, I change MW3 for BF3. I payed 50€ for 2 games that i digitally fully own.

I did the above twice in the past, but it makes me feel wrong so I stopped doing that.

What my friends currently do (EA Games only atm):
They buy BF3, FIFA12 or any other title for themselves (hardcopies), then they make a photo of their coupons, photoshop it and ask Origin for help because their serial isn't working. EA doesn't seem to care and gives a new key, some guy did it 4 times with BF3 and 3 times with FIFA12, they sold the serials.

Is this theft or pirating?

(felt the need to say this, deal with it :P)

I understand and respect your situation. My problem has never been with people like you. But what I've been saying for awhile now (just in case you or others missed it, this thread has gotten kind of big) is that I have an extreme hatred of people who pirate games, and then sell pirated copies. And not just games.

For instance, in NY I keep seeing people sell bootleg DVDs, music, and games. I honestly want to walk up to them, knock it out of their hands, and crush them. What are they going to do, sue me? They don't own the products they are peddling, except but for the small cost of the low quality discs they print it on.

I don't mean offense to anyone here, but I can't help my feelings. Whether you are type A,B, or C, just about every single one of us here, pirates sometimes for various reasons, regardless of whether or not we eventually buy the full product.

But keep it for personal reasons guys. If you pirate something for yourself, or your friends (and give it to them for free)** That's fine. I've got no beef with you.

But if you're SELLING the products, as if they were your own, you're way, way, worse than the corporate greed that makes pirating often required these days. You're just a terrible person, period.

**Just to be clear, if you ask your friend to cover the cost of the disc itself, I don't count that. I've had friends buy me discs because they were constantly nagging me to burn them stuff.

Again, I am sorry if I am offending any readers here, but my feelings are my feelings, and I am trying to keep it civil. But I loath, and am disgusted by people who sell other people's work.
