Hi everyone
I backed up my Rockstar game folder to save my GTA IV game saves.
I tested it before formatting my PC.
It seemed to work, but soon I realised it only picked up my saved game because I had my Xlive setup on my PC too.
When I formatted the system, I only had my Rockstar folder backed up. Looks like I forgot to backup the xlive folder as well.
Is there any way of sorting this out so I can carry on the game save from where I left off, or was the xlive folder a crucial part to backup in order to carry on?
And... is this the case with all games. Shall I just keep backing up xlive folder for any GFWL games, and merge them when reinstalling each one on a new PC?
Please help. I hope I can fix this
Thanks

I don't know, but you can test it? Just install game and put saves in their location and pray :)

You could run some apps for recovering data from HDD. (because you have formated then installed new data on HDD its small chance to return that folder but I think you have 30-40% of chance to recover it) BUT Its complicated and you must know how to use recovery apps.

this is my step before i format my pc 1) copy rockstar folder "C:\Users\Mr.X-FileS\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games" 2) copy Xlive folder "C:\Users\Mr.X-FileS\AppData\Local\Microsoft\XLive" 3) copy rockstar folder "C:\Users\Mr.X-FileS\Documents\Rockstar Games" after format pc, u install GTA IV, then paste all file same like your copy before. When run the GTA IV please sign up, then u can see your name & icon Enjoy :D | ||
