I dont think a lot of people got into the cs go beta because i saw a lot of people complaining on the steam cs go forums. Only one person on my friends list got invited besides me, while i know a dozen others whom i play css with did the survey but didnt get invited. The other way of getting invited is if your buddy. They would have an extra copy to give away. People are selling it on ebay, craigslist etc.., those are the only 3 methods i know of. Hope that helps |

Sorry I don't mean to be rude however I hope you do your part and actually test and report correctly, the last few beta's I have been involved in have turned to shit so fast, even stopped or ceased development as people used betas as an advantage to play early, not to review the product for consumers. If I have one request, complain about the rates for me; a shooting game shouldn't be about who has the best connection and better rates. Been involved in quite a few debates and tested theory about this topic, hope this is one thing the upcoming version hopes to rectify. Aside from my ranter; hey good news and be a good person and help bring a finished product to the gaming community. |

Nicely said, I will look forward to some more news as it progresses. Do you have a bit of info on the beta, has it started or just calling rollouts? I might check out the steam forums too, I only heard about it yesterday. Have a good experience anyway.

From what I know, Valve started doing closed beta in late November. They also have been giving out invites to "pro players" and competitive gaming leagues from time to time since then. IMO, right now they're in semi open beta. Call me crazy for saying that, but that's what I'm sticking to. They did the first wave of public beta invites in March. If you're not aware, Valve had a CS:GO survey up and if you participated, you might get invited. Valve didn't invite a lot of people in the first wave of invites back in March. I'm estimating 500 - 1000 people were invited; more or less. The second wave of invites which was last week.. well I'm guessing 1000. If it was actually 1000, then the odds were really.. really slim of me getting in. Surprisingly, one of my clansmate got invited too, sadly he doesn't play games that much to the point where we could have a couple of rounds together. I'm sure the reason why they are limiting the amount of people is because since everything is not finalized, they don't want a big riot going on with the entire fan base when they get their hands on the beta. If you've seen people play CS before, you should know how hard they rage. |
