LA Noire will not run on Intel 3000 HD graphic. Plus you're at work so i'll suggest something lighter, more arcade style like Happy Wheels flash games.

You might be able to play some games at the lowest settings and low res.

Arkham city might run ok with low settings, great game.

The integrated Intel HD graphics chip is going to be a massive bottleneck in regards to playing most modern games. I have a similar laptop to yours and have found that it's a great machine for online vids and movies, but it struggles mightily with most games (and games such as "Amnesia" don't support that chip at all).

For what it's worth, GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas should run okay since they're a bit older and it's still the 3D open world much like LA Noire and GTA IV. Also, what's nice is IMO those games had better gameplay than GTA IV.

LA Noire isn't gonna run on a computer like that. But if you're into Rockstar games, as someone said, GTA III / Vice City / San Andreas, all great games in their own right, should be fine.

If you're looking for some fun flash player games to kill time then I'd recommend Bloon's Tower Defense 5 and Battle Panic. Both can be found and played for free at: http://ninjakiwi.com/

If you have a game in mind, you can check if it can run on your laptop, visit this site, choose the game and it'll check for you:

honestly bro just download the game you want install and see if you feel that it is playable. It may run a lil slow but still be playable. then your good to go. If it is super glitchy and skipping then just uninstall.

Most games that were released before 2006 should run pretty good.

As mentioned GTA III, VC and SA. Then you could try Just Cause 1, Mafia 1 and even first Saints Row. LA Noire isnt much about driving around anyway.

As for others good games: Stalker, Dark Messiah, Rome Total War, Mount & Blade, Witcher 1, Half Life 2, Race Driver GRID, most MMOs like LotRO and WoW, etc etc etc
Should all run on mid-high.

BTW, I would give LA Noire and GTA IV a try, seriously. Yes the gpu blows but with some modding you prolly could play at least IV on low because of your cpu. My laptop got a dual core with 1.3Ghz and a ATI HD 4550m, and I was able to play it with around 20-25....so ya prolly could get 30 and more.
