I decided to purchase NFS shift 2 unleashed for my son and went online and found I could get it from Origin for $10.00. I went through the checkout procedure then waited for my email with the necessary details so I could download the game, it never arrived.
Several hours later I contacted Origin customer support via live chat and after getting screwed around while they decided who would help me, I was typing away to some non English speaking person in India. They seemed to have a basic comprehension of English but I could make no sense of what they were saying.
Eventually, they told me there had been a problem and I had been charged twice for the game. After a WTF, they said I would be refunded for one copy and would get my email with order details in 2-3 hours. We waited 7 hours, till after midnight and still no confirmation email.
I contacted customer support (screwing) again by live chat and they had no idea, eventually telling me the order had been cancelled. The sh!t hit the fan and my fingers have never been so rude in their lives.
Why do they have customer support in India, where it seems the crew are happy to lie to shut you up and get off the line?
Why do they ask for feedback?
That might change after what I had to say.
It still appears I've been charged twice for this game, got lied to by a couple of customer support persons and, basically got screwed.
I will be heading to my bank first thing Monday to make sure the payments get returned to my account and will never again go near origin.
Talk about getting screwed...
I now have to drive 180K's (return) to pick up a copy in a games shop. We have the same shop where I live but they said they couldn't get it and try Ebay.
Is this the entire gaming industry or are there still companies that care about their customers?
OH, Origin, you can GO F^%@ YOURSELVES and as for customer service.........

I've had numerous problems with EA and Origin before... After calling them and having similiar success (ie, none!) I used their online chat service because it usually yields far better results. That said, I do have a picture laying around when I had a problem once and was 4500th in que to chat online... Some companies aren't too bad while others (EA is one of the absolute worse btw) are complete assholes who don't give a damn because they already have the money from you.

I'm just curious.. but why didn't you just.. ahem download the game? Unless you wanted the MP experience as well. Anyway, totally sucks for you, hopefully you learned your lesson in going with Origin =P Last edited by TensionX1; 06-02-12 at 07:22 PM. |

Big G, don't you have a Steam account? I just checked and Steam has NFS Shift 2 Unleashed for $29.99 (US dollars). Good luck! |

The worst part is that you buy a copy in a game shop you may have to install Origin to install the game (big surprise with ME3, for instance). Origin is really a lousy tool. Do you really have to drive to a store? Maybe there's another way to buy it online? Or maybe someone could buy you a key and mail it to you? |

I've been noticing something within the Music, and Gaming industry lately. It seems they been trying to grab a hold and force things upon the people which is slowly turning people away and looking for new things. Like for music people are turning more and more to the underground scene. People are finding ways to make it without having a big production coming around and messing with them. Same can be said with indy gaming companies. Sure the games aren't as indepth as others but they are working to make a worth while game. These companies lost face with the customers and are treating even their fans as felons which then turns them into people who no longer wish to interact with them. The big 3 that tends to stick it up a customer's ass the most are EA, Capcom, and Activision and they are the highest grossing companies. Perhaps they are to greedy and are trying to just nickle and dime everyone while making massive budget cuts because the CEOs just simply want more. |

Gandolph13 bro, you should have seen this coming as many have posted things about Origin here already. I tried its alpha/beta of BF3 and i hated their crap and decided that they are not worth any penny of mine. Most Indians know English as its their second language..i am guessing that you may be chatting with folks from China or somewhere else..could be India too. Its Origin's FAULT for getting customer service from a center that doesn't have good employees. They share your details with 3rd parties too. In short, ORIGIN SUCKS BIG TIME! |

EA customer service is so bad, you can take advantage of their customer reps to get them to give you a free game or a free discount.

Sorry to hear about your experience with Origin. I have not digitally purchased anything from them so far. I use Steam though, and can vouch for them.

I've been told to watch out for origin, I did buy bf3 for xbox 360 from them which was supposed to come with preorder goods, game did show a couple weeks later but without code for preorder goods (have to do some special thing online that didn't work). Game was cheapest I found however, and eventually did show :/ After ordering had looked them up and seem some pretty bad responses.

Eww EA, i never buy there games. The last EA game i bought was Future Cop L.A.P.D which was on PS1, which was the best and last EA game i played. I'll never give that greedy filthy company the satisfaction of stealing my money, if they had any games worth getting i think i'd just download them cracked, least they'll have most of their special malware removed that comes with Origin, thats if there are actually any worth downloading :p. For actual legitimate purchases on PC i just stick with Steam, best service and support you can get on PC :). I've never tried Origin so thanks for the heads up though, i've heard so many bad things about that service. Last edited by c5cha7; 06-03-12 at 05:00 AM. |

This is how Origin works for everyone. So it's not just you. The only reason I have this crappy piece of software because I am forced to use it to play Battlefield 3.
