Sims 3 1.0.615 to 1.8.25 Update

ok guys, i got it work perfectly to the latest patch for sims 3 > 1.9.22
this method works fine with 1.0.615 game version which is full of bugs. anywayz heres how to do it:

1-if you got the game on your machine,uninstall it and clean your registry,then restart your computer. and do a fresh install for the game,and dont install EA download manager!

2-you gotta download the "The Sims 3 Patch Update [1.0.631.00002] Updates RELOADED Ver To Razors" from here:

or download this torrent "Sims 3.from RELOADED to RAZOR release patch GTI " from here(RECOMMENDED):

after you do, extract the files to the game dir. Example:>\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.

3-theres a small fix for the game, you can download it from here:

extract and replace the Sims 3 HelpPages and Bin folders:>\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\ . it helps to replace update_helps.html and other files to v1.0.631,those files version will be checked by Sims update wizard before you are able to proceed.

4-get the "The_Sims_3_v1.2.7_Update-RazorDOX " from here:

yes its a torrent but believe me its very important. in this torrent theres:
-Before:this folder contain original files for the game for 1.0.631 version, copy to the game folder \Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\ .
-the other two folders are Crack,Update: we dont need them because the patch will update the game to 1.2 and the crack to fix the game after the 1.2 patch.

5-after all, go to regedit:Start>Run>type"regedit"and search for:
64 Bit: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sims\The Sims 3
32 Bit: HKLM\Software\Sims\The Sims 3
and change SKU from 7 to 2 "(quick info:7 refer to Digital version of the game. and 2 for WorldWide version. and 1 for US version)" press ok then close it

6-you have to download the WORLDWIDE patch,download and install the patch 1.8.25 from here:

I just bought a (pirated) CD of TS3 World Adventures and my TS3 needs to be up to date. It isn't... I've been trying to *successfully* update the game but seem to fail miserably every time. I've downloaded lots of different updates but there seems to be loads of problems all the time and after 3 days, I still haven't been able to play TS3 Worlds Adventures. I was already planning to give up until I came across this thread. Will the steps in this thread make it more probable to let me install World Adventures successfully? (The stuff that need to be downloaded are SUPER HUGE!)

(I've installed and re-installed TS3 11 times because some of the updates made the game corrupt.)

i hope these steps work for u...i didnt try World Adventures on TS3 1.8.25 so..i think think World Adventures need TS3 uptodate with 1.8.25 if u follow the steps carefully u'll be able to install World Adventures.

EDIT:and about the files...if u got 1.0.615 version of TS3 i think u need to download em all ... instead of other 5 gig download :)

I have a question... In step 4, the purpose is to update it to v1.2.7. But in step 6, I have to get an update for v1.0.631.00002 to 1.8.25.003002. Did you notice something? I tried to do step 6, but it didn't work and there was a "region error"... (I don't know what SKU is...) I open regedit and then I change the thing which is named "(Default)" in the specified folder for 64-bit in step 5. I double-clicked it and changed the value from (value not set) to 2. I have Windows 7 as my OS. Help me? Please? I'm miserable.

u dont need to update with 1.2!...in step 4 u have just copy in folder BEFORE and dont use the other folders cuz we dont need them as i said in step 4.
and in step 5 u have to press on> strat menu>run>type in there "regedit" then go here >>> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sims\The Sims 3\ << u'll see keys in right side and u'll find SKU,right click on it then MODIFY > u'll find it as default "7" in there,just change it to 2 press ok then close,download the patch and it should complete the installation without any problems :)

i jus rechked the links and the steps and reinstalled the game and worked fine...u guys have to copy inside BFRORE folder and dont use the PATCH - CRACK folders in The_Sims_3_v1.2.7_Update-RazorDOX and download the worldwide patch.

I got through with the installation of WA (YEAAAH!) *BUT* there's another problem. I can't play it. (NOOOO!) I think that WA also needs an update and the TS3 launcher provided me with an update. I downloaded it and just before the installation was done, an error came up. It said "Invalid file found" or something similar. IDK what to do. I'm frustrated and sad! Help?

Well I finally was able to get the patch to work until it comes up with a message saying "File : Error: Catastrophic Failure"

edit: and yes I used the Worldwide download

I found out what was the problem...it was the patches you linked. I went on filefront.com and used those patches and the game works fine...Thanks for all the patch/fix info though, helped a lot!

I have followed the steps as mention and can guarantee that it works 100% i tryd alot of other so calld fixes and none of them worked on ther own so thanx very much i was able to update my sims to 1.8:

Thank you very much, updated my Sims 3 to 1.8.25 following your tutorial. Took a bit of time as I did a few things wrong, but in the end got it working.
