Happy New Year everyone! My apologies if I am violating any rules by making this post. I'm a newbie and this is my 1st post on this forum.

I had the Sims3 version 1.0.615 (digital) since around june. I had enjoyed playing the game and never once attempted to patch it what with all the myriad of issues I read online. But 3 days ago I decided to install the WA (by razor I think). I also had the base game Sims3 updated to version 1.0.631. After that, I installed the WA successfully and it updated itself automatically (through EADM). The game loaded up to main page but when after I click new game (no previous save games or custom contents as I removed this to backup folders in another drive) the green bar loaded up to about 20% the game crash to desktop.

After reading several fixes I decided to uninstall the whole thing, base game & WA. I even made use of registry cleaner to make sure of a clean install.

This time I installed the base game did not crack it and downloaded the patch from this website and it patch the base game all the way up to 1.0.8.25. I did not install the WA right away and tested base game as patch to 1.8 without previously save game or custom contents or hack. In short.... completely virgin. I did not even reconfigure the options panel. The game run smoothly without issue. I exited and deleted all 4 cache files found in my documents.

By all indications I should be ready to install WA. But I got cold feet. I can't simply run it only to crash again. I simply can't go thru the whole process again only to be frustrated.

This post is quiet long but I wanted to find out from this forum if I have missed something in the whole installation and patching process.

My pc gaming platform

CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core Processor (Black Box edition)
RAM: 3.0 gb
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4870 ddr5 1gb (with built-in cooler)
MOBO: MSI K9A2 Platinum Edition
HD: 4 hard disk with combine total of almost 1 terrabyte capacity
OS: Vista 32 bit premium

I'm aching to install and play WA but there are fears. So the questions are:
1.Is there anything else I should have done? Dive in and install WA???
2.If it ask for a patch should I patch it and to what version?? Should I be using the launcher / EADM?
3.any tips??????

Hey, I was in the same seat as u are now, but then I finally solved it after some major issues with the patches...idk if my solution is the best one, but hey it worked for me!

Here is how i did it:

*Uninstall everything, base-game and WA
*Re-Install base-game (Do not install EADM!)
*Patch up the base-game to .631 so that u are able to patch it normally later
*Mount the WA disc and explore it to find this file "Your Drive:\Support\Updates\Sims3_1.5.82.002002_from_1. 0.631.00002
*Run the patch
*Use the crack that are available on the WA disc and copy the contents to the appropriate folder and replace

*Run the game


Let me know how it went :D

EDIT: Oh yea, block both the game and game launcher in your firewall if ur having some issues :P
