LOL Just because I said I have SSD's does not mean I don't have HDD's. OMFG you assume you know everything. I suppose you think you are GOD too?

If you don't know how someone can sink 3 grand into a pc then you really show you know Jack.
Ummm... What? I said how could you ever dump 3k into a AMD build. Not how could you ever build a 3k computer. AMD's most expensive and powerful processor to consumer market is only $600. Why would you even stack up $2400 of additional hardware on a processor that is severely lackluster for its price range compared to it's Intel alternatives.

It's not hard to hit $3,000 build. 3-way sli GTX 670 = $1,500. The post wasn't directly meant to pick apart your build, I'm judging you and your questionable decisions. Not just here, but all your other posts as well.

I have to say, I am reading n3xus' posts with the voice of a "15 year old new to the world of computing" tone. There's no need to be offensive. No one was insulting to anyone here but him. I've spent more than 3000 bucks on my computer as well, but it doesn't make me an expert.

And annoyingly- when someone asks for advice, it is good manners to reply back after there were over 20 replies made. Just to ensure that you have read the thread you started.

Let's try to keep it civil. It's more fun that way.

@n3xus1- Highjacking someones thread, insulting other members, etc. wont be tolerated here for long. You seem like a smart guy and although I agree with you on some of your posts you really need to tone it down a bit. "taking the piss" is fine and good but you're unknown here and many of your posts just come across as rude and aggressive.

go for intels ivy bridge, get a quad core with HT that will help with rendering video

as for RAM, 8gb is fine, but 16 gb wont hurt, all depends on what kind of video editin and how heavy they are.

go for 64 bits, anything with 4gb+ is 64 bits :p

get an nvidia card because od the cuda processors that help rendering too.

get a SSD for main and HDD for storage

If you really wanted to be picky you would get the brand based on what you want to do
with your computer. Think about that statement billies. (My machine would probably kill almost everyones here if you had them running side by side) I purchased it for my needs though not to say "mines better than yours and get into a pissing contest"

My frustration is in the ignorance of these people.

edit: billes where are you located? US or Erope etc? I'm in Au and the price of components here are a lot more then else where.

Off the top of my head. I purchased a TV a few years ago. It cost me $4000 in
America it sold for $2300 from memory. so my pricing my not seem that much if you think about that. Unfortunately we are ripped off something chronic in Australia for everything. Now with the carbon tax everything is so much more expensive now.
When you spend 3k on a system, even if you happen to forget to mention you are from Australia before The resulting price still has no real justification. AMD advantage? what advantage, cheap pricing? In all benchmarks, AMD performances are shamed in comparison in each respected category by the Intel market equivalent. They haven't been a competitive company in the high end market for almost half a decade now. Only reason to ever choose an AMD route now-a-days is if you are on budget. But as you like to yell out about the $3k you spent, that isn't really the situation now is it. You just can't ignore proof of benchmarks, its like refusing to acknowledge basic principles of physics.

And when have I ever listed my pc specs in this topic? This isn't a pissing contest. Its a lashing at your integrity.

God help you if you decide to retaliate by posting PassMark benchmark results. Ill end you then and there.

And on the other subject, I refer AMDs all the time, several times here on TP too. Go ahead, check my post history. But as I just said, they are best concerning low budget builds.

You know? I feel like this thread was made for nothing. I bet the OP didn't even come back and check. This is the last thread I try to help people in regarding this matter.
