I've been switching antiviruses, and it seems that NOD32 is the best.

AVG Free has never let me down. It is light, unlike ather A/V programs, e.g. all Symantec A/V solutions that bring the PC to its knees. Did I mention that AVG Free is free? I would also sugest a separate program for firewall services. Comodo Firewall is great, very light, supports even Vista x64 and it is also free.

Avast for me, runs like wonders on my underpowered EEEPC 701. Don't even experience slowdown or nothing.

I think that Avira Antivir Personal + Spyware Terminator is a good combo. Add Spybot S&D and A-SQUARED free for further scan of suspicious files.

I'm using KIS 2009 in my Vista x64. Haven't installed any anti-spyware but Spybot S&D used to be my choice. :)
