I never liked Apple iBrand, iPods, iPhones, but decided to give it a try with the iPad 2, I never had any iGadget my self, so after spending a day trying to understand how it works, finally tried to install some apps, installed iTunes, create an App Store account nothing new done it on android market...
Problem n.1: You have to have a Credit Card To create an Account, not that I don't want to, but I use a Visa Electron Debit Card and can't make purchases online, but google it a bit, I found a workaround.
...straight to...
Problem n.2: The amount of info you are required to give apple to create an account, is it really necessary to give your address?
...finally created an account, what should I download firs, Angry Birds, nice simple game always fun to play and...
Problem n.3: I can't find the game anywhere in the store.
...so I decided to google it, found the game and you guess it...
Problem n.4: I can't download the game because my account is setup for the South Africa account and the game is only available for the USA Store.
I read stuff about apple quality control of the apps, and many other stuff but only now I realize how annoying it is...
I think what the Galaxy Tab lacks in hardware if anything, It surely makes up everywhere else, I will get one as soon as possible...

Um...my xoom out performance my brothers ipad 2. I gave up on iSh!t after the 2gen ipod touches. They were complete trash, they are better paper........im gonna stop before I go on a rant. Apple controls their software very strictly. Best advice i could give you is JailBreak it. Dont update the ipad (whenever they release updates) till they find a jailbreak for that update. Jailbreaking should fix all your problems, since you wont be downloading anything from the app store. Another choice is, sell the piece of sh!t and buy a android tablet. ASUS is quad-core which will prolly beat the ipad 3 in spec lmao. |

Apple lost me as a potential customer a long time ago because of Steve Jobs and his insistence to rip people off on prices of Mac products. 2. Android lost me as a potential customer by forcing everything through Google, who I view as the future Skynet. I myself, think that Android gives more freedom then Apple. |

I am thinking about giving the Galaxy Tab 10.1 a chance, or upgrade my GPU, or save money to buy petrol when oil prices rise...

You would be better off with either the new Asus Transformer Prime, the original Asus Transformer, or the Toshiba Thrive in my opinion. The original Transformer and Thrive can be had very cheap (at least here in the USA), while the Prime is the best device on the market with ease. The Prime just recently released here stateside, so it might not be available yet in the lower volume markets. As for avoiding Android because you don't like Google (not @OP)... well you CAN customize a ROM to remove the Google integration if you wanted. If you remove the official market as well as any other Google specific software you can have a no-affiliations device. Then use third party markets (GetJar, Amazon, SlideMe) or download APKs (app install files) via sharing sites. It would only take a basic knowledge of ROM modding, which anyone with a few spare hours can learn how to do with ease. Last edited by meowx3; 01-08-12 at 09:12 PM. |
