Default China Backdoor Access 80% of Communications

Quote:
Former Pentagon analyst F. Michael Maloof warns that the Chinese government has backdoor access to as much as eighty-percent of the worlds telecom network traffic, giving the regime access to sensitive communications.

The mechanism for this "pervasive access", as Maloof describes it, is made possible by equipment from two Chinese based telecom giants - Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corporation - which have been the subject of much concern from Western officials.

I would bet any company that produces and sells communications equipment is forced by its government to put some sort of spyware into the hardwares firmware.

Why would they need a backdoor ? They're already kickin' down the frontgate with force.

Right, but it was foreseeable, so it was a huge mistake to make almost all IT equipment in China because it costs less. It was a huge mistake also for other reasons, anyway.

When they start watching us, it's gonna be only 50% and that makes it okay because it's less than what China is doing..

What he said. Not to mention the pending legislation that is CISPA aswell. If that sucker passes, oh man. I'll be sure to get a VPN for daily use whenever I need access to the internet. Not that that would solve all problems though.
