OEM discs are typically the ones that come with a new computer, so it's usually just a disc and a key. You can find them for sale at various places online and are always much cheaper. Even respected online retailers sell them, they are easy to find. The disc image itself will differ from a retail boxed one, though, so an OEM key usually won't work on a retail boxed version of the same operating system.

Nice one :) Correct yes, open the first RAR and join them to make the ISO. You can burn this to a normal 4.7GB blank DVD and boot from it - and yes you will need a key at the end of installation, but I *think* if you don't have one there is a small period in which you can use it without activation, but it's maybe only a week or a month... really not sure. I would advise to get a key asap, as I have not installed Win 7 without one as yet. (XP is a very different story!)

If that's the case, will an OEM key for Home Premium or Home Basic work on the version in your sig? Since they are different versions.

I'm trying to download the files, but my internet connection has been crap these few days, so i might just go buy a pirated DVD or borrow it from a friend, but I'm not sure if they are totally clean. How prevalent are the virus/bot-infected and pre-release copies floating around?

I doubt very much that an OEM key for Premium/Basic will work on the version I have uploaded - I have not tested but I know it was the case with XP back in the day and likely Vista too.

Pirated DVDs or similar will always run the risk of potentially being infected or altered in some way, that's why I have uploaded a totally untouched version of the disc. If you can find one of these with the same guarantee, then it should be no problem, but personally I would steer clear of anything that could have been touched in some way.

I see. So how would I be able to use the one you uploaded? Is finding a Windows 7 Professional CD key the only option? Do they differentiate between 32- and 64-bit keys?

I always look for a untouched\unaltered windows 7. Figure if I want a customed OS I can try it myself, there are many programs to guide you. I also tend to look for MD5\SHA-1 on the original untouched OS's I download. If I'm lucky they verify with the msdn\technet downloads. Course if I'm doing it wrong someone let me know heh.

OK so once you get an untouched Windows 7 bootleg (such as the one by nethaste) , how do you actually make it activate? I doubt finding keys at keygen website will help since Microsoft blacklists them in no time.

there are programs...usually downloaded at the same time that will help you with the activation...

Here is another untouched windows 7 version that I have uploaded....also in the post I have included just a link to the loader/activator that I used on several of my computers...

Microsoft Windows 7 RTM Final Build 7600.16385 DVD 9X1 AIO

Thanks. How do I use the loader/activator? Do I first fully install Windows 7, temporarily skip the activation, then download and execute the loader? Does it work on all editions of Windows 7?

Also, is the RTM build the same as the retail build? I saw a bootleg DVD of Windows 7 Ultimate RTM build, but I do not know the build number. Will this be the same as the retail version?

EDIT: Ok so I googled RTM, and found out it is the final build that will be released to customers. I also remember, form the cover of the bootleg I saw, that the Windows included was leaked by some Russian named Zuko or something. Is the right one I should be installing?

RTM means ready to manufacture...and it is the same build that you would get from a retail version of windows 7....I would download the loader at the same time that you download your version of windows 7, and I would just save it to a thumb drive or something...then you are right...skip the activation that first comes up when you log on for the first time...and then run the loader...it will ask you to restart, and when you do you will have a genuine version of windows 7.....I have used the loader and All in one DVD of Windows 7 on a bunch of computers sofar, and they all are working and updating fine ( I made sure not to install the recent Windows Genuine Authenticator Update)...

hem, where's your conscience !
if you are going to use pirated windows to save money, better go ahead and do it quietly (like me :D). Other than that, there's no difference between genuine & cracked one (i prefer not to use the word "fake" here because pirated & fake are completely different).
