Hi everyone! Recently in the past few months a new service called filetram has surfaced. For the same cost as subscribing to Fileserve or most any other share site ($10 a month) you get access and no wait times for ALL share sites. You can simply register for free too with restrictions. Supports around 64 sites! I have personally tried it, my fileserve was about to expire and I switched to Filetram and I can use pretty much ANY link to ANY site. Just copy and paste the link into the Direct Download window and Filetram bypasses the countdown clock, registrations, etc! So far I love it! You can also Google search all file sharing sites with it and index them by size, type, etc. A very useful tool. Seriously, check it out, most ppl haven't even heard of it yet. This will make things much easier in terms of ppl not having to request Filesonic or Rapidshare cuz they only have a subcription to Megaupload. Happy downloading!

There are many so called services like that. There's one where you only pay about $7 a month and has unlimited bandwidth and many file sharing hosts.

If circumventing, say, copyrights or EULA's is against your moral code too then how do you explain your presence here on tehparadox? Sexjunkle, I'd say your being here with that mindset is much more suspicious then Filetram. Who hasn't tried to short out a Java download timer?? And when you really want something on 5 different share sites, do you buy subscriptions to all of them? Do you wait for a link on your subscribed site? O r just not download it? In most cases, ppl aren't going to subscribe everytime they need something where they don't subscribe. So I don't think it will affect share sites that much. I'm sure on a large scale it's possible. But if FileTram kills the share sites, it pretty much kills itself wouldn't it? That's not good business sense...

Soundlover, I'd love to hear any experience you have with these. Do you have any names of any of these services? Filetram is the first I've seen. I accidentally found it while looking up info on bypassing Java download timers.

Rapidleech is the cheapest of them all. You just copy the links (for example Fileserve or Filesonic links) into Rapidleech control panel, then it gives you the links which you can download with any download manager or browser and fast as your connection will allow. Then theres ContainerEx. This is a bit more expensive and with less filesharing hosts support but once its in the background you can click directly in browser, copy, paste into download manger and they download very fast too. There's another two like Rapidleech but more expensive and with like 15 file sharing hosts each. I find ContainerEx very handy so I pay 1 or 2 file sharing hosts only but can download in premium from others too. |

I have been looking at Leechpack. It's the same system. But it's just so idiotic made, all of those sites. The whole idea behind a Download Manager is to make file downloads through File Host Sites easier. And having to copy links into a 3rd party site, then convert them to links you can actually use (as if you have a premium account) and then copy those links into your Download Manager (I use jDownloader). Well. No need to point out that all of that kindda makes the whole purpose behind a DM moot.

ContainerEx is direct download, no need to copy anything, you can click directly in browser and download begins or copy links into Jdownloader and download them, like when you copy them from here. This is possible as long as ContainerEx program is in the background. It does not take resources and can be minimised near the clock. All the others you have to copy the links into a 3rd party site. And these days you need like 10 different Premiums in order to be covered. Make that 10$ /month per account and it's quite a nice amount.

Since you can find practically everything you want to download on FileSonic and FileServe, that makes 2. Some of the big uploaders (Cardman, tehPARADOX, etc.) almost always use Netload and Rapidshare, that would make 4. Rarely do we see Hotfile or Megaupload now. So, where do the other 6 come in? |

My point was it's beyond naive to believe that the music & film industries haven't thought of creating a model where copyright violators come to them and conveniently provide them with a record of uploads, IP addresses, file names; basically, everything it needs in court someday in the future. Does this Filetram forbid uploading 'copyright' material in it's TOS? But yet it seemingly engages in bandwidth theft from it's competitors? Sounds fishy. |

So I thought that; RS, MU, FS, ON, FM (Filesmonster for those BDSM sites I know), FSrv, Uploaded.to is more and more popular, Shragle. Those I have found to be the most common in my little world. The number 10 was just a round number, so that I could do 10x10 prize tag :P |
