Pictures Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ48 Black

My Swiss/Alp holiday is coming closer and closer.....and so I'm thinking about a little upgreate of my camera portfolio.
Was going through countless articles and reviews...and this model looks the best (for the money).
Ofcourse, its not a profy camera but Im not a professional photographer either...I literally want some decent pictures without a mindblowing price tag.
The price for this one has moved from 370€ to 270€ give or take.

So my question is... do you think I could get a better camera (ultrazoom compact) for under 300€, or do you own this model and want to warn/encourage me in some sort?

THX in adwice for constructive repies.

I found this review page for that camera.
The review was interesting and seemed fair but then I
went to the comments section of that review.
I think you may want to read them and then decide if that camera is for you.
They do have a section called Main Rivals that lists other cameras in that price range.

Have a great time during your Swiss Alps holiday.
Would love to do that one day. The views look breathtaking.

I own a Panasonic FZ50 and couldn't be happier for it's intended purpose. With the optics being good quality, as are all Panasonic cameras.
The Panasonic also have fast star uo times and you don't need to carry a big bag of lenses.

One trick with them, autofocus does slow down shooting times so it's a little harder to catch that action shot but there's 2 options, shoot in sports mode or shoot in manual focus (which is very easy for non fast moving subjects).

Of course everyone else is going to tell you to go Canon but I love my Panasonic and carry it in preference to my Nikon D80 DSLR on trips because I don't need the big bag of lenses.
