Last night I downloaded non stop, 1 file after another and now today I have wait times. They seem to be changing it on the fly. No idea what the total daily is.

the last time I used RS premium, it was 2.66gb per days. not really sure about free users and how they treat premium users now.

It's not really as rapid as it once was,as you say you used to be able to D/L one after another now you have to wait 4 mins before each D/L.
Downloading is a bloody nightmare now, some sites you have to wait minutes between captchas and D/L speed is abysmal, and trying to find a film from even a few months ago is pure hell, with outdated links and all the other hassle it is such a chore, surely it has got to improve.

They will bring back limits soon.

Every filehost wants you to buy premium account, because all those servers and bandwidth and payouts cost money.

Free capability is just a taster to encourage you to buy premium

A lot of downloaders start to complain, if uploader do any of such things.
Hopefully not anymore.

Value of working links soon be far more than easy access to them.

I've been trying to download from Rapidshsare for the past 4 days as a free user, and all I've received is the dreaded 'waiting for new IP' continually, and I have not been able to download anything. I'm in the US, so maybe this has something to do with it...?

At this point, I really don't want to buy premium since I got burned with MegaUpload...

What captchas? Rapidshare doesnīt use captchas.

Outdated links are not rapidshares fault. the lazy users who donīt lift a finger to crypt their links, donīt pack them anew when they got deleted, donīt reupload them and donīt secure them with passwords are to blame when they get deleted. On TP itīs really a pain to find older working links, but that has nothing to do with the filehosts. Like I said, users here are not very thorough. It doesnīt have to be that way, on the german board boerse.bz you can even find 2 years old links still working without any problems.
Canīt blame Rapidshare for half assed uploading.
Sorry my mistake,I didn't say RS had captchas I was meaning other sites with their crazy waiting times and dull speeds, for me RS has always been quite good

So can anyone confirm 100% that rapidshare premium (rapidpro) has no daily limit on downloads for premium users?

Also premium users what kind of speeds are you getting?

I want to know if it's worth bothering getting a premium account or not...

Thanks,

think RS is just being slow cause its being over-taxed. with most sites turning into shit after the MU incident, loads of people have probably turned to RS, download at the same time, and maybe their servers cant handle it, and thus you get shitty speed and waiting times.

Rapidshare has always been slowish. You need to be a Rapid Pro User to get max speeds

This is untrue. For about half a year now, Rapidshare has been lightning-fast and removed almost all limitations for free users, as you can read in their news article of August 4, 2011:

Quote:
Updates at RapidShare
2011.08.04

Even after the introduction of the flatrate the positive developments continue at RapidShare. From today our service will be even easier:

The website has been redesigned to focus on the essentials.
The file manager is now simpler and easier to operate.
RapidSave Packages can be managed directly in the file manager.
Linklists have always been seen as too complicated and can now be replaced by RapidSave Packages. At the moment linkslists can still be viewed and deleted but new linklists cannot be created anymore.

We already introduced a radical improvement a few weeks ago: we removed a variety of limits for free downloads. And we will follow through with this philosophy because we want to convince simply with a good product and not force users to pay. Please note that because of this, the paid TrafficShare feature becomes obsolete and will be removed soon.

Additional updates will follow in the next few weeks:

The download page will be freed from unnecessary content. Instead there will be additional and helpful features depending on the type of file.
By using a list of contacts one user can copy files directly into the account of another user.
We are developing additional features specifically to display images.

However, today it seems like they have reintroduced waiting time (app. 3 mins before download). *sigh*

atm rapidshare doesnt seem to have a daily limit or a speed restriction limit, i have a 50meg connection and have downloaded approx 70GB worth of stuff so far today (few hrs worth) and no such limit seems to exist, i was with filesonic, but we know how that turned out! they bailed like big girlies on their users!!
so for now im back with rapidshare, but for how long, depends upon the good uploaders, cos basically its their decision what we use, no use in getting a filehoster long term, that no one is gonna up to now is there?

may as well just go with RS on a month by month basis and see how it pans out....
