Samsung Tablets Not 'Cool'

The patent offices are screwed up for even granting patents like this. All it does is make money for the patent lawyers and crush small companies who are either: a) innovative but can't fight against a larger company who has deep pockets or b) have a product that is similar and, once again, gets sued by a patent holder with deep pockets.

With the patent laws today, none of the early car makers would have existed. They would have all been sued by one another.

How can you patent a basic idea like: a portable computer that is small, rectangular, thin and light weight... "Oh, what a novel idea. No-one else can make anything like it for 20 years." - what bullshit!

I'm not complaining about Apple. Everyone games the system. It's the patent offices that need to be straightened-out. Especially the US patent office. They allow software patents.

Ya I can't believe that they allowed that to be patent, because let's face it, companies before Apple created things just like that. It be like patenting the telephone, or cellphone and saying no one else can ever make a cellphone.

Sadly this isn't just about electronics, where the big fish eat the little ones. Innovative automotive inventions that have never been realized beyond paper have died by the sharks buying up the patents. I really wanted one of those automobiles that are powered by water.
