I was wondering which storage media you guys are using for backup. With lots of720p&1080p movies on our hd we cant afford to loss data at any cost can we?.
choose which media you use to take backup
1).Floppy disk
2).CD or CD-RW
3).DVD or HD-DVD
4).Blue-ray discs
5).Hard disk
6).Solid state storage(flash memory, thumb drives, USB flash drives, Compact Flash, Smart Media, Memory Stick, etc)
7).Magnetic tapes
8).Some storage website*
9).I don't care what happens, I never take backup

*I know most of the members here downloaded the file from RS Or MU or some storage site.Please do not treat that as a back up copy

I have an 80GB SATA hard drive inside my system that I use to back up My Documents and such. I also back up stuff onto DVDs from time to time.

well, i dont do back-up , i either keep files on my hard-drive or just burn them off to DVD and delete them from hard-drive to save space .. let say right now, if i do back up, i need to buy another 3TB to back up all of my data ...

I use my DVDs and 250 GB portable HDD for backups and from that HDD i make sure to put it on DVDs .....

dual layer dvds r still way too costly

thumb drives are all that i use because i don't have the $$ to buy an external hard drive at the time (even though occasionally i do FTP stuff to my (modded) xbox's 300gb hard drive for back up purposes).

I bought 500gb seagate external usb hdd for sale and hasnt failed me once..

I use DVD but I still use hard disk if the show that I watch are ongoing, wait till end of the season and burn it to DVD!

Try saving in hard disk before but had head crash and all the data lost! Pretty painful experience for me!

Atleast it crashed taking only your backup files. Mine one time crashed while transfering and I don't know what the h*ll happened but it crash my main HDD that day.... Well lets just say it was a painful day...
Now i use 2 external HDDs so i wont have such a problem again..

I use an external hard drive, and have been known to use my iPod as an extra hard drive when I didn't have as many songs.

I hate head crashes. My three hd were ruined
