The general idea is that many people have low speced PCs so they use Xp cause they can work faster in them... Give 2 years and that is going to be a thing of the past in my opinion

If we are talking about Vista x64 Ultimate, then i choose VISTA. Much better than XP. Why? I use VISTA since their beta version and have seen a lot of improvement not only in the RTM version, but most importantly with the use of the Service Pack 1. Better memory usage, better inviroment, less bugs, much safer... all that compared to XP. The use of 64 bit makes x64 programs run faster and more reliable. Though they are few for now. The only bad thing is that not all programs and drivers are tested in VISTA enviroment, so they are not compliant yet. XP was the best in the old days, but these days are over.

I think Vista skins make the computer slower, if you were to have a computer Vista with xp skins, it'll be fast ^o^

love both, but never had any trouble with vista thus far (on my beast). ... few things i needed to get useto, but overall its cool. on the other hand i use XP on my laptop. im a dj that uses serato, and i cant afford to have any problems when im playing out. if you install vista and your rating is lower than a 5.0.. id suggest upgrading or using xp for now. mac lol! for graphics.. absolutely for music... its a tie. abelton is better than logic (i use both so dont get me started) for games.. mac mac is for hipsters Last edited by knevil; 06-24-08 at 03:50 PM. Personally I use Vista (32 bit, legit) @ my specced-up Quadcore 4GB home PC. Quite satisfied with it, I find it reliable enough. My opinion is, go with whatever works best for you. I love both XP and Vista myself (I am an IT-coordinator where I work) and both systems have their ups and downs. Whatever operating system you choose (YES and that includes Ubuntu and Mac-OS), learn it inside out and you can have fun with it! Just know that not all programs you may be used to will work with non-Windows Operating Systems, of course! As to Windows XP Vs. Windows Vista???? WHO CARES? Microsoft wins both ways, heheheh....

Well if I just wanted to do work on my computer, then I'd choose XP hands down, but I use my computer to play all the videos I download and Vista has Media Centre which, in my opinion, is a brilliant piece of software and shows the highest image quality possible, unlike VLC or Core Media Player. So I choose Vista.

I've ran test on my system which was built for Vista - and came with Vista pre-installed. XP Pro runs Faster and with less problems than Vista on my system. I normally reboot my system once, maybe twice in a month. it is always on 24/7

I picked other purely for the fact I have a Mac also I hate using an OS with so many viruses UNIX is the way to go not whatever Windows is based on, But if I had to choose it would be XP SP3 due to the fact it is more stable (From my point of view).
