I just got my wisdom teeth out a few days ago and I can't eat anything other than liquids but I'm starving! I've had jell-o, pudding and apple sauce, but none of those are filling. I tried swallowing rice without chewing it but my stomach couldn't digest it and it ended up giving me a cramp. Does anybody have any idea what I can eat thats filling? I still can't chew yet so my options are limited. PLEASE HELP ME FIND SOMETHING TO EAT! |

Get that rice and put it in the blender, or make some nice stew and blend it to make it into a soup. There are loads of nice soup. Or eat seafood, slither it down. I haven't got mine out yet, but when I was younger and I yanked out random teeth, it worked. |

I took a few too many and became a zombie from all the Codine (as well as a little plugged up in the ) |

Just for the next poor guy getting his teeth out I've compiled some helpful tips on what to eat: -Jell-o is the fail safe, if a spoon can't fit in your mouth then use a fork. -Milk is great if you need something with a bit more substance. -Fried rice is great, swallow it whole. Just make sure not to put peas in, your stomach can't digest them unless they're split or something. -Noodles are good if you cut them small then swallow whole but soup is bad cause I find that little pieces of veggies get stuck in my stitches. -Scrambled Eggs are all right, they slide down easy. Not to good when combined with Iced Tea and Jell-o though .-Pudding Snack packs are pretty good for a change of pace, once again you may need to use a fork instead of a spoon. -Apple Sauce doesn't help very much but it goes down easy. ****When using a fork don't poke yourself where the incisions are, hurts pretty bad. Hope this helps. |

Content visible to registered users only. Join our free community today! The potatoes were pretty bland so I added some gravy and it was pretty good. Easy to get down, filling and tasted great. It was the most I'd had to eat in a week. Thanks a lot Grim. |

How about mashed potatoes...or bean soup.. Eggs, bananas...malto meal (hot cereal that isn't oatmeal) baked potato...make country gravy to dip toast in...oreo cookies dipped in milk...lets see...milk in general is pretty filling if you can drink it..you melt cheese on your scrambled eggs. Smoothies..if you have a blender are good for you...hubby and his lovely sense of humor suggests Giving Gerber a try. (eww..don't...not unless you really gotta LOL). Hope that helps :) |

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled out, I was pretty hungry. The problem is, you really can't do that much about it since all of the truly filling foods are solids. I don't care what anyone says, but protein shakes, soup and other soft foods just don't do the job. You just have to try and make sure you get enough nutrients and calories (even if it doesn't feel like it) to keep healthy so you recover quickly. I recommend possibly taking a vitamin supplement during this time, eating healthy soups, smoothies (cold and help numb any pain), milkshakes, mashed potatoes, eggs, Vicodin (thank your dentist), and Pay Per View. None of those should necessarily be in that order. :P I still have one wisdom tooth in because at the time he didn't think it would pose any problems. So far so good. But even if I had to get it out, it wouldn't be nearly as bad.
