To me, it depends on the anime. I usually prefer subs but I love Cowboy Bebop dubbed

I prefer subs because the English VAs tend to not personify the character as well as the Japanese VAs do.

Subs of course like most ppl have voted because dubs don't always capture the voices and personality of the character fully always. Plus, it's not that hard to read and the language is cool as well.

i would prefer English sub that English dub. when i watch English dub i feels the anime is not right while the real anime is talking in Japanese is better for me.

I agree. I would prefer dubs mostly, if the voice actors are chosen well. However, bad voice actors are... well... bad. I would prefer subs over bad voice actors.

Nope, i totally Disagree with you.
I like English Dubs because we can understand the Audio completely and we don't have to read those lame Subtitles.

there are but a very small number of shows with good dubs...ie. Cowboy Bebop and honestly DBZ had good dubs...but considering they were pretty old shows I would say that people put more effort into the voice acting.....now however all the english chars especially the main characters sound the like the same person with a small change in pitch....and god they have awful dialogue translation and terrible voice acting quality

Subs! This way you can fully appreciate the movie/anime or drama you're watching!
When you're used to watching videos with subs,you can appreciate that,but i guess it depends on taste.

Japanese sounds also cool imo, and many people already said it, the quality of dubs are just worse..

while there have been a couple of good dubs over the years, most of the time dubs are horribly translated. phrases are butchered, entire character personalities change, etc.

i dont mind reading the subs in order to hear it in japanese. even if i dont fully understand the language, the voice actors are usually top notch and really pass along the emotion of the moment.
