Yes Mister, you're totally right there. If after three episodes you start retelling what happened in the first three episodes for 10 minutes you don't have enough story to begin with.

It's one of those rare instances where the rule that subs are better than dubs doesn't apply. I watched it first with subs and gave it a try with the dubs. And it's really a good dub. Maybe more money was spend on the dubbed version because Cowboy Bebop was picked up by cartoon networks adult swim?

I like dubs better for two reasons: first of all, I really enjoy being able to watch the characters' expressions and the overall action instead of having to read subtitles whenever someone's talking. I feel like subtitles are really distracting from the whole experience.

Also, I find even the worst dubs pretty interesting from a linguistic standpoint; it's fun for me to watch a second playthrough of a dubbed series with subtitles on to see what changes were made when localizing. How can the translators localize a very Japanese joke to American audiences while still getting the point across and keeping pace with the animation? I dunno, even when it's been done really terribly, it's still pretty fascinating to me. I am a linguistics nerd, what can I say?

Aaaaand making fun of bad voice acting is always fun in and of itself, really. Haha.

I thought that the Black Lagoon dubs were pretty poor. I know they are all meant to be talking English but it just didn't seem right to me.

I'm not picky at all.
I always select dubbed or duel language if possible, but there are allot of great films which never received a dub-over, leaving subtitles as an only option.

either one, I won't complain.

If I could only choose one it would be subbed anime. That doesn't mean I wouldn't love to watch dubbed anime. Most people would agree there is some pretty bad dubbed voice acting however that's not always the case. There are some rare great animes with good voice acting.

Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Last Exile, Ranma, Dragon Ball Z, Death Note, Gundam, Ah My Goddess (OVA), Full Metal Alchemist

There is also some animes which has good voice acting however one or two of the characters you may dislike the voices (xxxholic - Watanuki's Voice).

I hate dubs, although I equally hate it when I'm trying to multitask and watching an anime where I have to pay attention to the subtitles.

Dubs, since I don't understand Japanese. Their acting doesn't matter much since they could be saying, "the cats tire is 2 walk" and all I'd have to go off is their tone of of voice. Most animes I've seen have decent enough dubbing. As for the voices, I've just generally excepted that anime voice over are plain annoying, sometimes the characters voice is just annoying no matter what language, Naruto.

Subtitles mostly. But there are some animes that are better when dubbed. One of my favorites are: Cowboy Bepop, Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragonball Z. And I enjoy them more when watching them dubbed. I just can't get into Japanese actors in those series.
