Guys, after read several threads about anime around here i decided to try my luck and ask something...

I'm searching for a specific anime TV series that must be around 20 y.o. or so so.
The series is about a baseball player. The main character was the one that throws the ball (sorry but i don't know that position's specific name). That's because baseball is not very common in my country (but i really loved the series). Another thing i remmember is that such player had the power to throw the ball with effects. One of the effects i remmember still today was one in which the ball created a black hole, disappeared... and then appeared again far ahead... wow!

I know this must be a very hard request but it REALLY would be fantastic if any of you guys could help me find this series.

Eclair, I carefully checked your list and now am almost sure that it is the one called 'Star of the Giants'.

What is written in Wiki's article matches my memories of it, especially at this part: 'The show targeted young audiences expanding the imagination of what is physically possible by dramatizing pitches and wind-up sequences. While staying true to being a sports anime, the contents are not simulated like real baseball. It was closer to fantasy surreal anime, though that was the norm within manga publications at the time.'

The example I gave of the black hole matches this part. And I also kind off remmember of watching the main character (a pitcher) with a Giants cap, so...

The series is really old, a true classic but I believe it can be it because I probably only watched its dubbed version about 10 years, or even more, after it aired in Japan TV. That time lapse is explained by the fact the series went 1st to USA and just after that reached Europe, where I am, and even after reach here, not all the countries would air it at the same time, or year.

I also have not sure if the version I watched was the main series called 'Star of the Giants' or any one (or both) of the two sequells that followed; 'Shin Kyoujin no Hoshi' & 'Shin Kyoujin no Hoshi II'.

Apparently, from the anime search I did, no fansub has ever worked on it, or if so, is not registered in anidb. I also did a web research, trying to find this series original dvds, and find out that the 1st sequel is currently being released in asia, but just the Japanese version, with no english subtitles... The same happens with the other dvds and series released before...

So, as much as I would love to watch it again, it's a dead end.
