After reading some of these post I just realized that i have been watching anime for 20 years now. Wow I'm old . Anyways back to topic, the first anime's I've seen in the begining of the 90's, they were broadcasted on local TV. There was Mado oh Granzort, Umi no Toriton and Saber Rider and The Star Sherifs (only the last one was in English, other were in Japanese). I also remember an episode of Cyber City Oedo. Of course when I watched them I didn't even know what Anime was, but I fell in love with the animation on sight. Besides it was hell of a lot better then Bugs Bunny.

I lived in a place where they used to air different anime series every day after school. Over 30 years later, I'm still hooked!

I first started watching anime more than 13 years ago, and that first anime was Ranma 1/2. My junior high school friend at the time recommended it, so she lent me the tape. Ranma 1/2 was dubbed in English, so I was totally ignorant of the fact that it was a product of Japan at the time.

I came home one day [I was in like 3rd grade] and DBZ was on the tv. It was the episode when Goku became a super saiyan for the first time against Freeza. Then I got hooked on the series, and yeah.

Erja is my friend, she watchs Fruits Basket, but I did not like that. She said to me that the Full Metal Alchemist was good, and she was right, as I liked it much.

I first started watching anime during the good ol' days of Toonami in the mid-late 90s. I remember coming home from school and watching the Toonami segment from 4-7pm. At the time, I didn't know of the shows as "anime" so much as "damn-good-shows". Sailor Moon must have been one of the first animes I saw. Even though each episode seemed to end in much the same way as Pokemon, I thought the show had some real drama. One of the villains even fell in love and became a good guy and was killed because of it. I almost cried. This is also around the time I started watching DBZ. I remember Goku's training with King Kai and his first fight with Vegeta left a big impression on me. I was hooked from then on, although I have no idea what got me started in the first place. I think I just turned on the TV, saw some guy with big hair fighting a green guy with antennae, and thought, "Cool, what is this?". A bunch of other animated classics were also airing during this time like Batman The Animated Series, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack. These shows practically made my childhood. Now is it just me, or is anyone else getting hit by waves of nostalgia?
