What's the first Anime series you ever watched?

i can remember watching astroboy back when i was a kid... voltron, transformers, as i got into my teens dbz, that show had me hooked...

Technically the original Voltron and Speed Racer are technically anime. They would be my first since I was a child in the 80's.

I stil have it on VHS.
First movie i saw was Akira.

This was all some 20+ years ago.

I remember watching Pole Position..I don't think that counts, the Voltrons (the one with the lions & the one with the vehicles), Transformers, the Dragonballs (I first started distinguishing anime & manga) & Yu Yu Hakusho, & the Gundams. My first anime movie was either Akira or Ninja Scroll. Some others I really got into are Cowboy Bebop, 3 X 3 Eyes, Blue Seed, Blue Gender, Hellsing, & currently Bleach. I like many others though.

well, lots of oldies...
like the one where's marco is searching for his mother, and travels the world from argentina...
since it was when I was a kid, and in my own country - the name was different.
Have no idea how its called in japanese :P

Im sure that most of the cartoons I've seen as a kid were anime... maybe some were european or american (like GI joe, thundercats)..

Only because it was on TV (I believe it was first anime in Britain). 1978.

I'm not quite sure. Must have been something like Captain Future or Heidi.
In the early 80s lot's of animes were shown in Germany.
The first anime I knew it was an anime was Sailor Moon.
