Hey Guys I got a HDTV movie from HDNET that I need to convert to an Xbox 360 readable file. Its a .TS [Transport Stream] [Mpeg 2] file, 18.4 gigs, 1920 x 1080i just for the record. I WON'T be streaming the movie from my PC to my Xbox 360, I will be putting it on a 500 gig external drive that I have as an HFS+ Mac Drive (so I don't get 4 gig limitations). I've tried using TMPGenc to convert it to WMV-HD which took around 4-5 days. The end product was good, however there are jitters in some scenes. So thats no good. I've also tried it in a converting software I have called Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate. Converted it to .MOV HD which looked noticeably worse and it wont play on my 360 even with 2 channel [Stereo] and it took around 10-11 hours to convert. Before trying to convert to the .mov HD file I did a sample and it worked perfectly, so why does show the red circle [i've tried renaming it] when I try to load the full movie on my 360? I've also tried converting to .mp4 with 2 channel stereo and the 360 still wont recognize it. Anyone have any idea what I can convert this to so I will know as well as others.

Hi, I've used 4 different and working methods to convert HD movies for the PS3. None for the 360 (cos i dont have 1 :P). If you were to have this problem on PS3, what i'd ask you is - what level is the H.264/AVC set to? Is the audio DTS or AC3? Also, i don't know why it should take 4-5 days converting to WMV-HD (which is pathetic anyway). Have you tried using TSmuxer? If you input the .ts file and then mux it to .m2ts (judging by the file size of 18.4GB - it should take 20mins to convert). You'll find the information to do that here: http://tehparadox.com/forum/f24/conv...-ez-way-99860/ Try that then give some feedback.

There are some similar topics in the helpdesk about converting for 360. Aside from wmv & mp4 methods, you could use Gordian Knot or AutoGK to make a compatible .avi. Have you played other non-wmv content that is over 4GB from your external?I've heard of people having issues...

Oh yeah thats another thing. Is the xbox hard drive FAT-32? if it is - then you'll have to chop up the film into several pieces..........

The 360 doesn't use its own HDD for storing media- you have to get an external. FAT32 is an option, but HFS+ does not limit file size and works as well.

Thats pretty good for HFS+ but how stupid can that be though? Lets imagine someone was tempted to buy a 360 Elite for the sake of the 120GB hdd - only to find out that you cant put most of your multimedia files on there (especially those 4GB HD movies)!

try ripbot to conmvert it an mp4 select the HD, Console Profile and you should be good to go remember the 4GB limit there's an option to keep the size locked to a certain size or you can split the movie into several pieces which if i'm not mistaken you can also do in ripbot
