Default JXD S7100 Android GAMING Tablet- ROOTED

JXD S7100 - NEWEnglish firmware and Quick root - 20-FEB-2012

Hello folks,

Just to let you ALL know the NEW s7100 firmware in ENGLISH is now available to download.

http://www.jxd.hk/download.asp?selectclassid=020001
For those of you who are a little confused on HOW to root your device (as I was when i first got my android device) It's pretty easy,

How to upgrade your firmware:
Download the RAR file from the link above and then extract the contents.

You upgrade your firmware with the link above, (just copy the update.zip file and the other 2 permission files on to your microsd card - at the root of your micro-sd card) then insert the mircosd in your device.

(Make sure your android device is fully charged or on chargE before doing any rooting)
Then you hold down the menu button (on the right of the home button beneath the screen on the device) and whilst holding that down you power on the device.

It should say 'upgrading...please wait' Then it'll go to the android logo and the wfi logo and after that it should take you to a menu;
Use the Volume + and - buttons to navigate the menu options. (The other buttons worked for me too) (You select something by pressing the back button {left of home button})
From the menu you can perform the following functions:
Select >Wipe data/factory reset.
Select>Yes-delete all user data.
Select>Wipe cache partition.
Select>Wipe media storage partition.
Select>Apply SD-card update.zip.
From the menu choose "Apply SD-card update.zip" select the option using the Back button. Wait while the tablet reflashes. Ensure the battery is fully charged or the power cable is connected before starting the reflash process. After the reflash is complete. Press the Back button to reboot the tablet.

That should have installed the new software!

Then to root your device you just need to to the following;

You need to activate debugging by doing the follwing;

-Settings > Applications > Developement > USB debugging (Tick the grey box, green tick should appear)

Then connect your JXD to your PC or MAC via USB (the wire should be provided to you in the JXD box!) This should set your device in debugging mode.

Then Download the R14.apk file from the following website USING YOUR JXD S7100 (Scroll a fifth way down the page to find the download link!)
http://android.modaco.com/topic/320350-19nov-r14-visionary-one-click-root/

(You can download it on ur computer and copy it to the root of your microsd card, then on ur s7100 install it using AppInstaller or another installing program) -

You can download Root Explorer.apk directly to your JXD device via google, just search for Root Explorer.apk and i'm sure you'll find it on a filecr*p site somewhere!

Once you've installed the R14.apk it should automatically open (if it doesn't, it will make an app called 'visionary' in the place where all your apps are! (on your JXD screen there is normally 4squares, below the 'e' internet symbol, clicking this should take you to all your apps!)

Open Visionary and commence...

First you want to TempRoot now, it should do it fairly quickly, then you want to try the 'attempt permroot now'- this should be farily quick as well (less than 20seconds nornally) then it will automatically reboot your JXD device and upon booting up it will be Rooted! You won't really be able to tell a difference just by looking at your device normally! BUT when you have Root Explorer you will see in the top left corner a 'R/W' (read-write) symbol and your root explorer will be granted super-user permissions! this means your rooted! (Don't confuse yourself with 'R/W' thing as there is a 'Mount-R/O' button at the top aswell! the 'R/W' is on the left of that... a lot of people see the 'Mount:R/O' and think their device hasn't been rooted!!!
You then need to go back in to VISIONary+ and uncheck the box at the top that says ' Temproot on boot'

For now that is all i have to offer! - Do this at your own risk by the way -

Thanks to all the good folks on the internet who've made guides and given help for things like this before!

(If there are any mistakes or improvements or interesting related things to this, please feel free to message me and help make me aware!)

Search Applanet.apk (if you goto the offical site, you cand ownload the app directly to your device....its a replacement for the App Market apparently)

You can d/load nds4droid apparently, it lets you play Nintend0 DS games on your JXD....

Buy PS3 and fit it somehow in that tablet, and then...yes, it will play PS3 games, until then answer is no. PS3 has at least 20 times (lucky guess) more power then that tablet

BTW, code that link! Read rules. If you don't do it you will be warned from mod or banned for advertising
